Lunch out with officemates.

Since this is their first time at an Uncle Moe's, ordered a tapenade, mankeesh, moutobal and a beef shawarma. All good, but we already know that. 128515

Been too lazy to review on looloo lately, but I had to come on out hibernation to talk about Uncle Moe's. Those Kofta Balls doe 128588🏾128588🏾 (gratuitous closeup photo mainly so I can stare at the them). Even just the tomato sauce it comes with it tastes so delicious on its own I cannot 128557 I've been here twice in the past week, but I'm still craving for it!! I just find it a bit expensive, at 210 php + 32 php for buttered rice. I also really enjoy their keema and shawarma, which are much more sulit than the kofta balls. Their chicken curry was just okay. I liked that the chicken they used was literally all meat, but I find their sauce too thin. Service was just okay, but those kofta balls deserve the 4 stars!! 128523

Their chicken is sooooo good!!! Had the chicken kebabs w/ pita (more like a tortilla tho lol), and half an all-chicken shawarma this afternoon and I really wanted to order more. #takaw 128557 The servings are small for the price, but I guess the flavor and tenderness you get makes it somewhat worth it.

Minus one star though cuz the lady assisting us was so unpleasant. 128517

If you will only order one item from Uncle Moe's menu, you can't go wrong with the Kofta Balls. (Follow that with an order of the most tender Chicken Kebab ever and rice with butter but I digress.) I just can't get enough of these beef meatballs bursting with cheese that go perfectly well with the tomato-based sauce. Each order takes 15 minutes to prepare and costs 215 pesos but it is definitely worth the wait.

Their shawarma was okay but the place was too small. I couldn't move that much. Price was very affordable!:)

Kofta Balls is the bomb!!! The cheese lover in me is very satisfied with all the cheesy goodness in it. Price is affordable Though Service was not that good and the *ate* waiter was *tulala* and not that attentive! so minus 1 star! 128539

I have been eating Persian dishes since I was in college. Before, there was just one particular restaurant that i go to whenever I crave for shawarma or keema. Now, there are two of them. One of them is Uncle Moe's.

Their Chicken Shawarma is good. The serving is big and the chicken chunks were grilled perfectly. But I like their Moussaka more.

It is made from grilled eggplant mashed with ground beef covered with melted cheese. It is perfect with slightly toast pita bread.

The Moussaka is delicious despite the size if uts serving and price.

Another great dish to try here is their Kofta Balls. It is like eating spaghetti sauce with meatballs but better.

Uncle Moe's has been close to my gastronomic heart for years now. I just love their beef kebab with buttered rice. It always hits the spot just right. To my curiosity, I decided to try their other branches. Particularly, this one at Maginhawa. The place was kinda small. It also lacked that comfortable vibe like the branch in City Golf. The food tastes the same though. The service was okay but my food took some time to be served. I guess this branch just serves you the food to make you full and that's about it.

All beef shawarma!!!128077128077128077

Yes, I do go to all these places, and yes, I do need to go on a diet!!!!!!128513128513128513 hanggang November na lang ito!128522 more exercising, less eating!128124

Anyway, Uncle Moe's is a good place to visit if you are on a budget, yet would like to eat good food! Super sulit! This visit was all about their shawarma- all beef baby! I may not have ordered them but their Kofta balls and kebabs are great!

Amongst the branches I've visited, I think this is the smallest one... I do wish there were more tables to accommodate the customers!128522

Big Moe’s Shawarma is a solid addition to a great line-up of restaurants in Maginhawa. While not a traditional Persian bistro, the food and price are good enough to give Mister Kabab a run for its money.

Ox-brain was delicious. Instead of just plain cooking oil, this was one was sautéed with butter and garlic which made it even tastier. Not recommended for people with a heart condition though hehe. 105 PHP

The All-beef shawarma had a premium taste to it that sets it apart from those cheap shawarma stalls. The meat in this one is really tender and flavorful as opposed to the stale ones you can buy in malls. Pro tip: add the ox-brain to the shawarma. Yummmy. 165 PHP

The Beef kebab, on the other hand, wasn’t bad but wasn’t that great either. You can choose to go with rice or pita. I was in the mood for bread so I went with the pita. The meat had the familiar spice but it doesn’t really stand out from other kebabs I’ve tried. The pita was soft and didn’t have any burnt taste (which one would normally expect from pita bread ordered from a shawarma joint). If you’re really hungry though, it might be better to go with the rice. 135 PHP
