We went here after our dinner at Shawarma Bros. The cafe part which is located at the first floor is a little small but cozy. The bar, located at the second floor was more roomy and has a legit party vibe. Anyway, we stayed at the cafe so we can talk away from the noise upstairs (signs of aging, hahahaha!).

Bacon Bomb - Spam wrapped in honeycured bacon served with Apple Cinnamon Cream Glaze. I literally copied the description in the menu and if that does not entice you enough to order it, you better see a doctor. Hahaha!

Love Potion - This is one, if not the most, interesting drink I have ever had. It's a cocktail based on Jack Daniel's Honey and some stuff. When it was served to us, the attendant instructed us to whirl/shake the potion for it to mix properly. What we did not expect was that everytime we whirl/shake it, the drink changes colors! First it was blue, then red, then green and so on. It was amazing! The taste was very good as well. It doesn't taste that much like it's an alcohol drink. It's sweet maybe because of the Jack Daniel's honey part. Order this one, it's very good.

Perfect place whether for a catch up with your friends, a drink after work or simply an escape from home when you want to study out on a Sunday afternoon. For all I know, they can also host your events. This place is up to the third floor en the bar is on penthouse. On weekends you can spot local celebrities here en they've got varieties of food en drinks (alcoholic& non alcoholic) respectively. They also have choices for kids.

In my case, since it's still early for dinner en we've just done a walk around the city so I opted to try Chef's tuna sandwich that came with chips (350php) en the detox juice (150php). The sandwich is can be good for two. En though the juice seemed quite pricey at first, it's worth it the moment it's served

Talking about the interiors, you'll feel like you are really in an apartment, based on NYC. The lightings, the floor tiles, the arrangement of the bookshelves on the groundfloor, & the set up of the washroom

Overall I think, you should get on now en visit the place yourself ;)

Yippeee for multiple photos! 9786

Unit 27 is a homey place. It's like a sanctuary where you can do and be anything you wish. Well, just kidding. 128541 Haha

After a tiring day of graffiti hunting around BGC with Cindy S and Arzola, I decided to have late lunch here. I ordered Egg Salad sandwich with bacon (in the picture). I enjoyed it! Hmmm who wouldn't if there's bacon, right? 128584 Haha

If you're starving, you may order rice meals. They serve caldereta, and all-day breakfast meals. They also have pasta, if I remember it right. But the next time I visit, I'll surely try their omelette. 128517

All artsy people will like the interiors. Very photo-worthy. 128526 I also love their facade. I like the brick wall + bicycle. They have a collection of hats, which I think you can borrow for photo op purpose. 128541 If it's available, you may opt to sit in the couch for a more homey feel.

The servers were attentive, and accommodating too. That's a plus for me. I like how they asked for water refills.

P.S. This place turns to a bar at night. I actually tried the night vibe here last January with high school friends but we didn't stay long as we wanted more of caffeine than booze. 128584 Tumatanda na kasi talaga. 128541

This is the good place to unwind after a hard day's work. We had truffle mushroom and spanish sardines pasta and both were yummy. Will definitely come back for a few drinks.

This place looks like it's been decorated by Urban Outfitters, including the deer bust on the wall. Very pretty place, high ceilings, pretty decors. So many areas that can set the mood for a great photograph. Loved that they didn't cram the place with tables which gives you a bit of space in between other guests. Their ground floor is for dining, the smaller upper floor is for drinks.

I was surprised to see a lot of Filipino food on the menu. A tad bit expensive though, like 600 for their signature burger or 400 for fancified turon. Coupled with their location and the decor, you have to expect higher price points here. However they do offer more affordable options at the 250-400 price range.

Truffled Mushroom Pasta. 395.
Al dente fettucini, creamy but not saucy. Loved the fried basil on it. This very simple act of frying a leaf gave the dish a different taste and texture. Seemed like a big serving, maybe for 1.5 people.

Jack Daniel's Aussie Bacon & Egg. 495.
3 slabs of thick cut bacon with your choice of rice - steamed white, steamed red/brown combo, garlic, and pesto. We opted for the pesto rice and it was so good with the bacon. Bacon was very tasty with its Jack Daniel's bbq sauce. It's comes with egg too, either scrambled or sunny side. The thickness of the pork really is a thick slab of bacon, but like a skinny cut of liempo. I don't think I would've finished this on my own. If you're sharing this, it needs double the rice considering the quantity of pork on the plate. Good for 2-3 people if you add extra rice.

Fish and Blue Chips. 350.
Take note this is bar food. It's prepared in a way that it's easier to pick up with your fingers. The serving size was just way below my expectation. Was ok, but we all know nothing beats what is offered by Chucks and Fish & Co.

Jayson J, Kristin A and I shared our orders and I personally liked the food. Our food was tamang busog lang because the fish was a small order. Service was great, our server made several suggestions after he asked and found out it was our first dining experience there. Even the front door guard was welcoming.

I'd like to come back to try their sandwiches and cocktails. They have this awesome drink elevator by the stairs. Imagine, expressway just for drinks. This place has a huge 27 in the front window, hard to miss this place, unless you have a J on your name and have a current fixation with latte art.

Thank you Jayson J for the photo of the fish & blue chips!128522 Way better than my terrible shot of the bacon & egg.

Whant to go to a cafe but have something like bar? Unit 27 will satiate your cravings. Yet we found something else in these bar cafe. In this cafe bar that can only house around 25-30pax, we managed to get the last seat at 8pm. We did not waste our time and finally made a decision to get:
128204128525Jack Daniel's Aussie Bacon and Eggs (featured)
This is a brunch meal that we have not overlooked in our dinner! It's a three slice super thick bacon double smoked with jack daniel sweet barbecue sauce. Really good cause it's tender and jiucy. Your choice of either sunny side up or scrambled eggs. The garlic on it was kinda hard. There's a nice serving of salad too! And didn't i tell you it's complete with rice. We chose to have the pesto rice and it was rightly herbed.
128204fish and chips
This is a bar snack. Do not expect much. The fish inside the breading was soft and kinda disintegrates. The chips were nice and thin. Please do squeeze lemon on those fish and the mayo dip combination rocks.
128204truffle mushroom pasta
Fetuccini pasta was just a little undercooked IMO. Rich sauce however i wish they could have served more! The protein meat was just apt, i like the fried basil leaves to give a different texture and taste. Truffle just right to smother an aroma upto your nostrils. Not too strong a taste.

Ambiance is not good for reading a book or stuff. I say get a friend and eat! Servings good for sharing. This place good for chatting and having fun.
Though servers might not be able to fully attend to your needs ASAP.
CR's small but is kempt. Looks like a small room because of the drawer (yes!)

Legit place for hang out...!

I was super famished when I decided to give this place a try. While checking the menu, I find the prices to be steep for ordinary dishes like the one I ordered - beef tapa breakfast meal.
I patiently waited and out came this gigantic unassuming dish. It wasn't even photogenic 128517 but wow!!! It was super tasty and huge!!! I tried to finish it thus stuffing myself to death BUT I still couldn't. So I took the remaining half home and had a super huge dinner as well 128513128513128513128513 sulit!

And I never thought sandwiches in the Philippines could be this fulfilling. 128561128513

After the holiday get together with our clan, I kinda feel stuffed with all the meats so when I meet up with my friends for a lunch I decided to just grab a Tuna Sandwich as this does not have rice, nor meat. And to my surprise, this is how big the serving is. The bread is wheat and a little small for the huge chicken, tuna, lettuce, tomato filling that's inside this sandwich. There's this tuna chunks too that appeared to be steak cuts (they made me confuse really) and the colorful potato cuts. I forgot if those ate potatoes or sweet potatoes but otherwise yum! I'd say the serving is huge, the place is very cozy and picturesque, the staffs are accommodating. And for a sandwich this big, Php 295 isn't a bad thing.

I haven't tried the rest of their menu so I cannot give a perfect score yet. But cheers to a good start! 127866

I'm not sure why they have good reviews because from my experience there wasn't any good in this restaurant.

Food was ordinary, the service is sooooo POOR!!! We wAited to be seated for an hour, they place us in bar stools and cocktail tables when we ordered dinner, at first it was okay but we asked them to transfer us in a dinning table once they have an available table but the waiter told us they can't because the tables are for those who are waiting downstairs. I talked to them like 5times that night because we can't sit properly in our mini skirts. They kept ingnoring our request until I finally lost it and talked to the manager to transfer us in an empty dinning table. And finally they finally did at the table next to the cocktail tables we were in. But it was too late because we already finished the food =(

Never ever coming back to this place again!!! boooooo!!! 128078🏼128078🏼128078🏼

We went here last Friday night to have our mini Reunion with my fellow high school friends.

It's just the 5 of us to be exact to celebrate our lifetime friendship. Our other friends are not in the country as of the moment but i hope we can have this again by Summer of 2016.

Anyway goin back to this bar+cafe. This is my first time here btw and i liked it. The place is cozy, not that big space but has 3 floors. First n second consist of the cafe well the second floor you can actually just chat there while you either eat or drink from the bar upstairs. So yes, comes the third floor they have a mini bar. It's a small one compared to other clubs I've been, but i think what makes it different is the feels of bein just comfortable with the ambiance and yes the music. Dj's here has flashbacks to the eras before justin bieber got big. Haha

The picture here, the only food we ordered is bacon with drops of chocolate and popcorn. I like the combination of sweet and salty in the bacon they served, very likely to partner it up when you are drinking. 128516

So yes we had fun, partied like early 20's and of course got to be with each other for the longest time. Hope we can go back here, hopefully with the same group and try their food. I heard it's worth the price. 128077🏻128522

Manila is turning into one big foodie destination. With several restaurants opening here and there, it is so hard to decide on where to eat. I am already getting frustrated that I am finding less and less time to explore new restaurants and the fact that for some reason, fats find its way to chill on body parts I wish they would never find. Curse you slow metabolism! Anyway, I got so giddy when R mentioned that his Chichi group will meet up for dinner last Monday because that means dinner out! (Yay!) I was so excited with the idea of eating at Genki Sushi since that was what R recommended. But come Monday, it was decided that we’ll have dinner at… Unit 27 Apartment Bar + Café.

Hello again, Unit 27 Apartment Bar + Café!

This time around, I got to see the third floor of the restaurant/bar. The third floor, unlike the set-up on the ground floor, was definitely more of a bar with its neon light wall décor, dim lighting and actual bar. I didn’t take photos of the place since it was quite dark and I was more interested to listen to R’s Chichi friends’ stories. (Yes, connected to the real world!)

Hungry, R already knew what to order—Pinoy Steak & Egg (PHP380). I went with Bagnet Breakfast (PHP395).

It’s so fascinating though how restaurants service slows down when you’re very hungry. It happens to me most of the time. And Unit 27 was no exception. Our food arrived after 30 minutes! It took them that long to prepare our food. >_< We were so hungry that it made me exert extra effort to take quick photos of the food.

After a few clicks, it’s dinner time!

My house dried pork belly was quite good. It wasn’t overly dry that would make my throat itch. I loved that it was crunchy all throughout and no part was chewy. I alternately dipped it sukang Ilocos and Unit 27’s homemade lechon sauce. I also liked the tomato salsa with boiled egg as it added different texture and flavor to the dish. (They lied! It was not quail egg as mentioned in the menu! Huhuhu.) And it was perfect with garlic rice!

R’s tapa was good too but it was more on the sweet side. I liked my tapa to be a mix of sweet, sour and salty tastes. (And only my mom’s tapa tastes like that! *proud*) But what I liked about Unit 27’s pinoy steak was that the marinated strips of angus beef were oh-so-tender. It was thinly sliced and effortless to chew. The flavor though was a bit too overpowering and the rice was drenched in the steak’s sweet sauce. I guess if you drizzle enough vinegar, it will somehow make the tapa less sweet. Or order more rice to spread out the sauce.

Overall, it was a fun dinner with R and his friends. Service was just the not so good part of it. It almost made us hangry.

Went out with friends last Sunday, and decided to try Unit 27.
I ordered Bagnet Breakfast (pictured) for myself, and something-something Nachos for the table. I didn't expect that they had huge servings, so I didn't get to finish everything.

Also, I would have appreciated it if their waiters were wary of closing the bathroom door from time to time. We were seated in the table where we could see the insides of the bathroom every time someone comes out. We also asked to be transferred, but they declined saying that the table that we wanted to transfer to was already reserved.

There were also times that they were not being very attentive; just milling in the corner, and talking loudly to each other. #petpeeve

Last October our boss visited us. It was a very stressful week since we have to finish and publish a lot of reports but since he's only here once a year, we make sure we all go out for lunch. Because no matter how busy you are, there's always time for food especially when it's good comfort food! 128521 He was able to try a lot of Filipino food already. Bagnet, Laing, Adobo, Bulalo, Sisig, and even Balot!! Name it, for sure he was able to try it! 128517128563 So we decided to bring him in a different type of restaurant but still with a "Filipino touch". So we all had Pinoy Breakfast at Unit 27!!! We called a day before since we are a big group. We had a lot of requests and they all took note of it. They arranged everything for us. Good thing the Chef, Chef Dennis, was really nice and very accommodating. 128077🏼

For our group, since most of their food are plated, we asked if they can have it in platters instead so we can all share. We had Adobo Salpicao, Bagnet, Pinoy Steak, Aussie Bacon, and Nachos. We also tried their Healthy Drinks which are all so yummy and refreshing! They used fresh (sweet!!) fruits so it was really good! Plus they all looked very beautiful and bright as well! 128525

As always, we all enjoyed the food. Crowd favorite was the Pinoy Steak. Tender, tasty and oh so yummy beef strips!!! YOU MUST ORDER THIS BECAUSE IT'S AMAZING AWESOME AND THE BEST!!! 128518128525128513128077🏼

It was my first time to try the Aussie Bacon as it was sold out when we went here before and wow, it was good. Thick sweet bacon slab almost like a christmas ham but better. They all liked this as well. 128513

The adobo salpicao was good but bitin. Wished we ordered more of this. The nachos was a bit disappointing because for the price, we were expecting a big serving with lots of toppings but meh. The salad was good also. Loved the dressing!!! Sarap! 128525

Service was okay. Waiting time was a bit longer than usual plus the servers weren't that knowledgeable. We were asking what about the ingredients used in their drinks but no one can answer us. 128529

They gave us complimentary dessert. 3 different flavors of turon and a scoop of vanilla ice cream -- mango, monggo, and the original. It was just okay. The mango was too sour. 128563

We really enjoyed and liked the food and drinks! All good and yummy!! No doubt! 9786128513128077🏼 But they should do something to improve their service. 128512128517

Jack Daniels Aussie pork belly!!! Huge servings at 500 bucks. Wife got the tapa which was excellent! Sadly my fish was super rich and major umay factor. Had to order atchara to cut the richness!
Nonetheless will go back to try their other dishes!
