I came in late and was really hungry by the time lunchtime came around. Suddenly I had craving for pasta, so I dragged my teammates to the best pasta place in our neighborhood.

We ordered 128020 Braised Chicken Pansotti and 128025 Black Ink Tagliatelle (again!). The marinara for the tagliatellle seemed a bit soupy, but still great. Nothing to complain about, really. And because the place wasn't full, service was relatively fast.

I was glad we went to Va Bene for a number of reasons: 1) the place was not packed and had enough seats to accommodate us, 2) we were able to choose the spot we want to be seated, 3) good service from all the staffs and 4) GOOD FOOD.

It's not as expensive as any other Italian restaurants but the quality is just the same. The pasta dishes were served al dente just the way we liked it!!!

I liked the Braised Chicken Pansotti (P390) mainly because of the al dente pasta. The Gorgonzola Cheese Sauce was a bit too strong for me but I still enjoyed the dish. I love cheese so it wouldn't matter if the taste is too strong or not.

The Pappardelle (P460) is so damn goood!! Twelve hours braised lamb shanks, Italian sausage, semi-dried tomatoes and black olives... This is what this Pappardelle is made of!!! It's really so good, the al dente pasta with the super soft shanks just hits the spot everytime!!! It could've been a better dish if it was a little more spicy but you can always add chili flakes to add that extra kick! ;)

This square pizza is something I would order again. The bread was super soft and loaded with flavours. There's really nothing much going on, it was just Taleggio Cheese, ricotta, mushrooms, truffle pesto and parma ham. Simple as it may sound, everything combined just created the perfect flavor for this pizza.

While waiting for my order at Chihuahua. I went to Va Bene Pasta Deli, just in front of Chihuahua Express to avail their Street Food offering (available from 3PM to 6PM only).

Upon entering the server greeted me and told me that if I can seat near in the entrance door 'coz they're having a problem with their aircon by that time.

The place is not that big but it can accommodate at least 50 pax. I noticed the warm colors of the place and the crafty lighting too.

For Php180.00 I got 4 pieces Crispy Cheese Ravioli with Tomato Sauce.

They served complimentary toasted bread while waiting.

I have dined here a few times since it first opened, mostly with my colleagues. Last night we were a big group of 6, celebrating our friend who just left us for greener pastures 128542

We shared these orders:

127813 Complimentary melba toast with chopped tomato and basil in olive oil (naks kumpleto!) - our group was makapal enough to request for several orders. Hahahaha. And in fairness, we heard nary a grumble. Ended up leaving a fairly generous tip.

128055 Polpette - the meatballs taste great, and the tomato-polenta-ricotta sauce is slurp worthy 128523

127812 Organic Eggs Tagliatelle - one of the best sellers lives up to the hype! The sauce is oh so creamy, the truffle flavor not overpowering.

128025 Black Ink Tagliolini - another of my favorites, the marinara is on point. My friend prefers this over Wildflour's, which was oil-based.

128020 Braised Chicken Pansotti - some of my colleagues prefer this, even with the gorgonzola sauce, the salty dumpling pasta makes it less cloying than the tagliatelle.

Came here on a Wednesday evening, and there were only a few tables occupied. Yay!

Shoutout to the crew for great service!

The black ink is tasty, but the Tajarin lacks flavor.

Finally was able to try this one. Nothing special about the interiors nor its something very italian. Just plain orange, canteen feel and warm environment but the pasta and pizza were really good.

Organic egg and mushrooms with truffle was worth the price at 400 while salmone pizza with focacia bread as the base was equally good as well.

This dishes here are best for sharing. 128522

Va Bene has always been the go-to place when it comes to Italian food. You can't go wrong with any of their dishes, our personal favorite is still the veal ravioli. (Pictured)

They are consistent when it comes to their food, over the years we've been eating here from the old lone spot in Petron Station by Pasay Road. Before getting a table there would be reservations made in way advance but at least there's the branch in BGC now which everyone goes to and the one by the gas station is practically open for dining anytime of the day.

They also have their black truffle stock back (while supplies last) so you can actually order black truffle shavings with your order of pasta. Back for the nth time, still a satisfied diner for the nth time. 128076

I don't know if it's just me, maybe we ordered the wrong food, but my first Va Bene Pasta Deli experience wasn't as "wow" as I expected it to be.

First of all, the place looked pretty ordinary. It did have vibrant colors and interior design, but if not for the raving reviews I've read, I would have had second thoughts in eating here if I would base it on the ambiance. Apart from that, the food prices were a bit steep. So I had high expectations that were unfortunately not met.

My friend and I ordered the Salmon Potato Ravioli and Massimo Pizza. The latter had traces of toppings on thick bread. The pasta was okay; to be honest, I've had better. Service-wise, staff was very attentive. I don't think my glass of water was ever empty, and they provided our requests (ie., table napkin, chili flakes, etc) quickly.

Needless to say, it was a typical Italian place based on this experience. Will probably still try their bestsellers next time

Organic eggs tagliatelle are a must try when you come here! Loved that the pasta was hand made, it was al dente and thick enough to match the flavourful sauce. We also ordered the Massimo pizza, the dough was thick and overpowered the pizza itself.

The ambience could use a little improvement as it had a fastfood feel to it rather than an Italian café. The staff was polite and attentive. Would try their ravioli on my next visit.

Italian food at it's best 128526.
Im not rooting for any italian cuisine, nor im a fan of italian food (pizza, pasta maybe128513). Va bene opened up a space in me to reconsider italian infused food. I highly recommend this resto it's good and very satisfying.

*Caprese with chicken melanese - at 570. This is heaven128060. The chicken was so tender, covered with cheese. The serving was just right for the price. The server said this is their best seller so we never doubted his suggestion. He's damn right lol. I never thought italian food can capture my discriminating japanese palate.

*Boscaiola (square pizza) - at 288. So flavorful. I only know shakey and yellow cab hahaha. This one has this thin crust oven baked goodness. You can realy taste the hint of the truffle pesto and parma ham.

*Salmone - at 288. This one id say not bad. The smoked salmon was overwhelming, it's the only thing you will remember because of its saltiness.

*Homemade Profiteroles - at 280. This dessert defines sweet. Im serious it was so sweet. I just dont like the way it was prepared. The profiteroles were stuffed with somewhat thick whip or bavarian like cream. Im happy with out the filling. So i ended up taking the insides out before comsuming them hehehe 128526.

We odered their pasta but i forgot what its called lol128526. Difficult italian pasta name hehehe. In total id say this place is a must try. If you want something different you gotta have to visit vabene. Italian food at its finest

Ribeye Steak and Truffle Pasta. It was love at first bite. At P1799 it was perfect to share with a love on. The pasta was al dente and so saucy. The steak was tender and cooked right. The steak sauce was also good.

The venue was very casual. The service was ok but the waiters kept asking if they could bus out a plate (maybe coz it was almost closing time.)
