Because I missed spending time with G, my boyfriend, as in date, as in kami lang! hahaha We decided to spend Saturday morning together to work out, swim, and eat. The night before we were kind of having second thoughts cause we got home late already but we ended up pushing through. Yay!!!

We were supposed to start with the gym but I didn’t have the chance to have breakfast yet so we ate first. I had spam and egg that I did not like at all. The spam was bland… well, not bland, but it didn’t taste like how it usually does. The egg was bland for sure and the sinangag was just bland also, disappointing. G had this burger he would always rave about and it was good. I’ll probably have one of those next time. And he also had a mango shake and homayygasshh it was good! It was really sweet, which is how I like my mango shake to be, but that only means that it was overripe (not so bad) or full of corn syrup (very bad).

After late breakfast, we used the gym. The last time we worked out together was months ago and I was a weakling. Hahaha But last Saturday, I was really excited to show him how strong I got. And he was surprised hehe! In just a matter of months consistently going to the gym I now have a better appreciation for health and fitness.

The gym was kind of old, old equipment, but it was just the right size. I got to move around a lot, trying all the equipment, but also using just my body weight. We spent a good hour in there and G and I had fun taking turns as “coach”.

After the gym, I thought we were just going to shower and get ready for lunch already, but G wanted to swim. And so we did. There were 3 pools, a lap, a kiddie, and a 10ft one. We stayed in the 10ft. We got out of the pool only when we started getting sleepy and hungry and when the “bad” sun came out.

I'm not a big fan of showering in public places or semi-public place but my experience here was not bad. In the locker rooms, you’ll see that there’s a division for members and guests. It looked the same to me but I guess the members are provided with toiletries. The attendants inside were nice, I got kind of intimidated when I asked for a plastic bag but they gave me one anyway, no questions asked.

For lunch, we pigged out! I wanted to have their bagnet but it wasn’t available so I went for lechon kawali instead. It was good, crispy balat and juicy laman and taba. The serving was big, which was a bad thing for me because I couldn’t finish, but a good thing for G cause he finished it for me. G, on the other hand, had 2 pieces of grilled porkchop, which he shared and I liked. Well, anything grilled naman, I like. I also had a mango shake of my own.

Overall, I love the whole feel of the place. Some things in this place might be simple and outdated but it’s that very fact that makes it enticing to me. It’s a nice place to get away, especially because it reminds me of my childhood and the good old days. Syempre the best part of it is I get to share it with my boyfriend. Duh!!! #cheeseball

New in their menu is this Dried Fish Breakfast Platter, with a variety of dried fish or "tuyo" for you to try. Aside from the very nice presentation, the dried fish is not that salty! :) This of course best paired with Valle's Hot Chocolate!

Loving the new and affordable additions to their menu! I tried the tempura ramen. I was pleasantly surprised! It was really good, especially since the tempura tasted awesome. It's also a very generous serving (it took me two meals to finish). And the best part - it's only p100+!

Service is always a 128077128077. 128522

I'd recommend you try their Lengua (really good 128523) if you want a full meal, or the Monte Cristo if you'd prefer a sandwich.

For dessert, the Mango Cream Pie is just absolutely 10084ly, especially with coffee. 128522

They have the best Pinoy style hot chocolate, they serve it in pure melted cocoa then it's up to you how much milk or sugar you want to add. Their pizza de luxe is also a must try!

My favorite merienda combo. Taco and VVCC ice tea. Ask for some hot sauce for the taco, makes a world of difference. The taco is not on their menu. It's one of those dishes that only long time regulars know about.
