Cagbalete Island - a hint of utopia in the Philippines.
Amidst the long and tiring travel to Cagbalete, the people greeted us with warm smiles and the place welcomed us with a cool breeze. We stayed in this resort, Villa Cleofas, and truly, the management were very accommodating to the visitors.
The good catch? Since it is not the time of the year of bikinis and hot bodies, we were the only visitors of the resort. Imagine the aura of the place bombarded with tranquility and serenity.
For our accommodation, we rented a tent which is good for 5-6 people that costed P700. Since the food is costly, we brought our own food which we cooked later. Renting the utensils and stove costed P50 per day and P30 per minute, respectively. They also offer the use of charcoal grill for free. However, you still need to provide the charcoal which they sell for 20 per bag.
We arrived in the place half an hour after 12nn. At that time, the rise of sea level started. Of course, we cooked our lunch first thing after arriving then went straight to island hopping soon after. We went to Yang In Sandbar, and moved farther to snorkle. The water was clean and and unpolluted. Looking under, there were countless sea urchins and healthy corals. Afterwards, we moved again to see some starfish and then stayed there for
longer to appreciate the sun as it sets. We returned to the resort when the sky started to dim.
We washed ourselves and got ready for dinner. Before we call it a night, we let ourselves be awed by the stars. This place is good for stargazing. There are little light pollution but it can manage. An hour or so later, we already layed in our respective area in the tent. Unfortunately, the rain poured down so we were disturbed and was forced to move our tent.
The next day, we got up early to catch the first trip of the banca which is at 7am.
All in all, the place is great! However, in order not to be pested by insects and especially mosquitos, you must bring an off lotion. I highly recommend this place to other people!

This is the only place you should go to when in Cagbalete. #WhenInCagbalete. Hashtag dapat.
I was here last January with Paula P and friends. And visited again a few weeks ago. Perfect place for beach camping. Adequate and clean restrooms. Friendly, and accomodating staff. Shoutout to the owners of the resort. As I mentioned in my review for Cagbalete, the island was packed! They weren't pressured at all. Even though they couldn't give us a tent at first. They were just so cool and handled everything with ease.
Villa Cleofas will always be my go to resort #WhenInCagbalete.
