One or two months ago... a private beach resort in Cebu got viral on facebook. I got really curious and researched about the place. The photos online were really beautiful. So I made sure that during my trip to Cebu, I have to see it with my own eyes. Hahaha I skipped our whale watching for this beach, so this better be good.
3 hours away from Cebu, you will find this not so hidden paradise located in Brgy. Tan-awan, Cangcua-ay, Oslob Cebu.
From Cebu proper, you have to go to the south bus terminal and ride a bus going to Oslob/Bato. We rode a Ceres bus around 3am and travelled for almost 3 hours. Ask your driver to drop you off at Tan-awan private beach resort, if they do not know the place, asked them to drop you off before Seafari resort. You will see a big tarpaulin and that will be your cue that you are in the right place. "Welcome to Oslob. Tan-awan Cangcua-ay private beach"
Before reaching the beach, you have to go down almost 300 steps!!!! It was really tiring... nakakamatay.. but the view was also nakakamatay, it was really worth it!!!! It was stunning and jaw-dropping!!! While going down, I was like... "Wow. Step. Wow. Step. Wow"
We paid php120 each for the entrance. After paying, you can already help yourselves, and find a good spot where you can stay. Take note that the cottages are on a first come first serve basis. Better go there early morning to secure a spot. Also, they allow cooking/grilling/bringing of food without corkage.
During our stay it was high tide!!!!! We werent able to enjoy swimming in the beach as the waves were really strong! We just took a rest on one of their cottages while having some morning chitchats.. after it, we had some photo ops. We were the only people when we went. It should have been perfect if it was low tide. Hahaha The beach is really beautiful, it has blue to green-ish hue. It is really relaxing to the eyes. Plus the splash of the water is calming.
You have to see this guys!!!! No regrets of not seeing the whale sharks for this. Already included this on my list when going back to Cebu. And ofcourse, have to check tides schedule. You may want to go here during low tide. It will be better.
You can also go here via Dumaguete, travel time will be lesser.
