Friends and even acquaintances know how much I dread summer. I'm not exactly in a good relationship with heat and the bright and burning rays of the sun. It was just last year when I started to visit beaches. And apparently, it's not that bad... in the afternoon. Except for this beautiful place where I totally forgot that I hate the sun.

Hello, Virgin Island!

This spectacular place is roughly half an hour boat ride away from our resort. And since there is really nothing much to do in Bantayan proper, we opted to head here for lunch.

We went to the wet market first for some fish and other meats for our "paluto". And we found out that you should head to the market at 6am the latest if you want options. We were stuck with a few fishes to choose from as we got there around 9am. No more shrimps or meat. 128547 We just added more fruits and veggies to make it a more enticing spread.

As soon as we hit the shore, we were greeted by a hipster paradise. Hammocks, sea shells and white sand were the first things I noticed. There was also a welcome sign painted on a rustic wooden plank.

There were no roofed dining tables available when we got there but the men who manage the area arranged a table and two benches for us to use. Though we were on a shaded area, there was one problem. Birds and their poop. Yep, our table got hit a few times, thankfully not our food or drinks. (We managed to get a roofed area a bit less than an hour and before our paluto arrived.)

After enjoying our feast, we decided to head out and swim for a bit. R and I were the last ones to brave the scorching heat at 1pm. But once you're splashing around the pristine sea, you could barely feel the heat.

We didn't stay too long though and headed to the next island after an hour.

It was a wonderful short stay and I would love to visit this paradise again.

P.S. IG lovers would go crazy here.

Just when I thought I would go home unimpressed, we found the Virgin Island in Bantayan. Oh please, don't get me wrong, I have been to really beautiful beaches, and partial to white sand beaches. So when I see the beach in Bantayan, I was not that impressed. But when you just keep on looking, you'll actually find what you want. And we did! We found the Virgin Island and was really happy about it. It was a private island, and we had to pay entrance fee of P500 for 2, and additional P100 for the third person. We stayed in one of the cottages, and pay an additional P300. The island is well-maintained, and they have nice facilities too. They also have lifeguards.

We chose to swim, and then lounge all morning. I like their beach lounge chairs. I actually fell asleep. You can order the mango shake for P100, and lounge there like a boss!

The plus point of our visit in the Virgin Island, well there were few people when we were there. It was a great place to de-stress after the long travel from Cebu City proper to Bantayan Island!

I didn't like the place. I'm quite disappointed. The Virgin Island isn't virgin coz there'a a resort on it. The value of our money going here wasn't worth it. We paid 700 php for a boat ride going here and an entrance of 500 php for 2 and additional 100 pho per person in the island. But we did here was memorable. We took a video of us dancing Uptown Funk. 128514128514

The beach is beautiful! Bring snorkeling gear since there are good snorkeling spots around. This really isn't a resort, just an island for day trips. Cottages range from 300-800 php and you can bring your own food or order from the locals there. Fish is so fresh and affordable, but the pork is so expensive and full of fat! So better order the seafood, no regrets there :) The island is around 20 mins from Bantayan and you can go there via a pump boat (ours cost 700php). If you are staying in Bantayan and you have even just half a day to spare, I think this place is a must-see for its raw, natural beauty :)
