So we accompanied a friend to Taft and decided to have lunch at Wai Ying.

Got their Lemon Chicken with rice and it was badass! Huge serving of Lemon Chicken goodness! It was crispy and yummy!

Only problem tho would be the cleanliness of this resto..

Had a fast lunch with my sister after church service. We ordered the usual pork and century egg congee, 2 orders of siomai because siomai love haha, and chicken feet. We also had iced nai cha.

All were good as usual, especially the congee. You know I'm a congee boy haha! The siomai was still good but not as super wow the first times I tried it in Ongpin. I did not like their chicken feet, too small serving and the pieces were malnourished. 128542 skipping this next time and i have to remember. the iced nai cha was a good thirst quencher 128077🏻

Never expect superb service here. These small kinds of Chinese restos are not into service, take it from me. 128514

Got their Asado rice toppings and beef chongfan since I am
allergic to shrimp. My friend is always raving about the shrimp
one but beef is all I can eat:(

The asado rice was quite meh.. It's all sliced in small tiny pieces and the sauce is too overwhelming. Meat is quite tough but it was quite filling naman. I did not get to finish all the asado though.

Shrimp Chong Fan 128070🏼 and also had Wanton Mami. 128076🏼

I take for granted the fact that there's Wai Ying beside our office building. This branch is bigger, easier to find, and more illuminated. It feels less "authentic" though. 128518

Lemon Chicken Rice! Delicious haha, always order it here. Serving size is great even for a heavy eater like me. It isn't that sweet or sour so it has a perfect balance! Always a place where I'll never be disappointed.

Would I go back? I come here maybe once every two weeks so yes.

Expected too much. Kala ko kalasa ng Wai Ying Benavidez and 168 Mall. And yung favorite kong HK Milk Tea (cold) masyadong matapang. Hindi masyado creamy. Kapag take out plus P10 sa plastic. Ok. Tnx. Bye.

Super yummy! I had their congee, hakaw, and fried cuapao with condensed milk! I loved it! I've never heard of or tried fried cuapao before and it was a very pleasant experience! According to one of my friends, it's also a good place to grab a filling lunch-to-go! 128077

My siblings and mom were craving for some fried man tou so we decided to buy in this branch since it's the one closest to our house.

There were only two tables (already eating) when we arrived. We asked the cashier for 4 orders of fried man tou. She said kua pao. I said fried. My sister and I paid and waited128516....and waited128558...and waited128528..and waited128529 for ONE HOUR! But it was okay.. We still left with a smile.

And then we got home.. And saw that our supposed to be FRIED MAN TOU was STEAMED!!
We only ordered that! Kaya pala super tagal. 'Cause I alwas order this and it only takes 15mins. Maximum. Nisteam pala nila.!! 128529128545128545128545

Service was really slow tapos ganto. And then we asked our helper to bring it back there and then we'll call him so we can talk to the cashier.

She can say sorry over and over again diba? Pero kasi sumasagot sya... She even told my sister na sabi ng sister ko steamed kua pao daw so I told them that wasn't possible since my sister didn't know the term kua pao! Only fried man tou. My sister (who came from a duty ,she's a doctor) lost her temper and I can say that the cashier may have cried after the conversation. We didn't ask them to fry it,instead my sister asked for a refund. We did get our money back but the experience was really disappointing.

People, we only wanted to eat man tou.. Plain and simple.. Some people 128530128530

It's only now that I realized this Wai Ying I've been passing by frequently is THE Wai Ying people talk about. No wonder the place is always jam-packed.

I had a hard time choosing my meal and I ended up having fish fillet. I don't think it was a wise decision but it went fair enough. The fish was soft and the breading was fine and crispy the way I like it, but I expected something more delicious. The hakaw, too, wasn't so satisfactory as it was dry and somehow tasteless. I've had their buchi too, a couple of days ago, and it was chewy and the filling was good. I loved the tasty sesames in it.

I've just been here thrice and unfortunately, I'm not very satisfied of what I have had. But the good thing is, I still opt to go back and be wiser in picking the right order. Good thing this resto has a lot to offer, and they have just expanded and renovated the place. Now it's cleaner and wider.

Well, an allergic reaction didn't stop me from eating the food I've been craving all week. 128523 So I popped an anti-histamine and went to Wai Ying with my family for dinner.

At first, I was a bit hesitant since most of their selection were good for only 1-2 people. So we ordered a hefty serving of the fried rice, fried wanton, hakaw and spare ribs. 128523

Okay...so the milk tea was served first. It was delicious. It was just how I like it, not too sweet and not too strong. My brother and sister also liked it and ended up finishing theirs halfway through the meal. The fried noodles was up next. At first, I thought I wouldn't like it because I figured it would have more togue than noodles, but, boy, was I wrong. It was delicious. The rest of the meal were all delicious. The dishes were not too oily or too soggy.

All in all, the meal was superb and worth every penny. I spent only 1155 (1108 after presenting my father's senior citizen card). And considering that we ordered quite a lot, I was really happy about our meal. 978697869786
