Was craving for some Japanese food, was thinking of Sumo San but then we saw Watami. My daughter loved the Beef Sirloin with yakiniku sauce. It was really tender. Cooked perfectly. I ordered the Beef and Onion rice topping. I love the Kimchi on top. Hubby ordered the Watami Ramen. My husband didn't really loved it as he had better ramen but it was still ok. :) Takoyaki was good with real octopus bits inside.

More often than not, I am happy with Japanese food and the usual perky service that comes with it. However, I'm not too crazy about the food nor the service I experienced while dining at Watami a few nights ago. I'm not sure if it's because it's the closing shift and the staff was really tired at that point but something wasn't quite right with the ambiance. I had the Salmon and Flying Fish Roe with Rice and Stone Pot. It was okay, in the least, but not as memorable. I will probably give this place another chance in a few months. 128532

Before watching a movie, my friend and I had dinner at this resto.

I ordered Chasu Rice in stone pot (245PHp) for me it was sulit. My friend didn't feel the same sentiment that I did. She ordered yakiniku and half rice. Not sure how much her dish was.

It’s always fun to bond with colleagues outside the office. You get to know them better and you get to freely talk about other things without feeling guilty of slacking off. And since one of my officemates will be leaving soon, we decided to have a team dinner. After a few suggestions here and there, we decided to dine at Watami.

Hello, Watami.

I was super hungry when I got there with one of my officemates who happen to live in the same area. Due to lack of self control, I ordered right away. I went with: Watami Salad (PH255 for half), Salmon Irodori (PHP195), Cold Soba (PHP225) and Shochu (PHP150).

The Shochu arrived first and it looked like water. Upon sniffing, I could definitely tell that it’s alcohol. It was pretty strong too.

The Watami Salad and Salmon Irodori were served next.

I noticed that the salad’s meant for sharing as it was served with tongs but… no. *sharing no likey* (Kidding! But I really didn’t share that night.)

The salad was pretty filling for a half order. The crisp lettuce, cold tuna, tangy dressing and sweet corn and mushrooms made it delectable.

The salmon irodori disappeared too fast. *heartbroken* It was served fresh though and the size of the salmon was pretty decent for its price.

The cold soba on the other hand was your typical cold soba. It didn’t really stand out that night. But I love cold noodles. I find it very refreshing.

Most of my colleagues ordered sizzling bowls and finished the whole thing. So I’m assuming that these are great dishes too.

*This wasn’t exactly my first visit. I visited several months ago with my mom and sister and ordered a bit too much to the point that I forgot them all and decided not to blog about it.*

Tried the stir-fried udon with seafood. Not disappointed, not a bit. Nice staff, and good ambience. I even asked for more tea. I should go back and try the other dishes.

I am craving for Beef Sukiyaki. 127836 My friend and I went to WATAMI Japanese Casual Restaurant to have a bowl of Sukiyaki. For starters we had Spicy Salmon Tempura Roll 1108811088110881108811088️ 5/5 and Omatsuri Takoyaki 11088110881108811088️ 4/5 127841127843 . After 5-10 minutes our Beef Sukiyaki 110881108811088️ 3/5 reaches the boiling point, the soup was too strong and sweet. But we're happy because the server assisting our table accommodate us well. For our sweet ending we had Matcha Parfait with Azuki Beans 1108811088110881108811088️ 5/5.

To have a great deals in our final billing, I used my Premium Bistro Card to get 20% off and to have Free Americano and of course the P300.00 off voucher. Isn't great? 128540128525

I wanted to try this Japanese restaurant just because it was part of the Bistro Group. The place was nice and tidy and the GM was very accommodating. We ordered the sukiyaki and tokoyaki for soup and appetizer. The sukiyaki was really good and the tokoyaki was very tasty. I then order the pepper beef donburi then my wife ordered the Katsudon. We enjoyed what we ordered. Only suggestion is to eat the pepper beef donburi at once cause it would tend to burn the rice. Burnt or not, it did not mayter as it was still really good. Definitely will be back.

So I just recently came back from France after 4 months, and my once go-to Japanese restaurant turned into a place that I would never go back to again.

First reason - service was horrible, and yes, in every way you could think of.

Second reason - for quantity and quality reduction, their price remained at the same level. Boo

Third reason - They removed certain items from the menu, INCLUDING MY FAVORITE 128529128529128529

Well i don't know if they just has a bad day or had gone downhill, but i certainly never going to visit them again unless they start doing something about their current situation

Very good for the price! We ordered the ramen (this was a bit too salty), beef pepper rice, katsudon, spicy salmon tempura roll (my favorite-pictured above), takoyaki, gyoza, and sashimi. Really recommend this place!

Bad service. Food was ok but ordinary. Nothing special, we could have eaten better at Sambokojin. :(

Famished because we were having really late lunch, we stuck to ordering familiar stuff.

On the table
California Maki - tummy filler
Pork Rice with Egg Yolk in Stone Pot
Beef Rice with Hot Spring Egg in Tokyo Sauce
Sliced Beef and Onions in Yakiniku Sauce
Pepper Beef Rice in Stone Pot - i should have taken up the servers offer to mix up the dish. The beef was one whole piece and nangalay ako after haha. Must be because the seats were a bit low.
Watami Ramen in Special Pork Broth - this was a winner! The broth was very tasty.

Lesson learned - do not order anything in a stone pot when you are hungry. I didn't enjoy as much since food was really hot. And research on specialties before ordering.

Was okay tonight. Not jumping up and down for their sashimi. Their 'big drinks' are nice. Desserts like the green tea ice cream with adzuki beans are likewise nice. Their Premier Card discounts are honored at several other restos like Fridays, Italianni's, Fish & Co., etc.
