Went here for our dinnner, its been a while since i last dine here, probably 2 years back, i badly missed their stone pot rice since their glorietta branch was already closed.

We all ordered for stone pot rice and i got to taste 2 variants:
1. Beef pepper- its a bit salty cause of the pepper sauce that they use but it was an instant bestseller for me.

2. Chasu- more on the lighter flavor side, in contrast to the beef pepper in which the flavor was bold, this one was more light and fresh.

3. Mango Passionfruit tea- passionfruit was good here and since theres only few resto that offers it, i badly missed this one. But the pearl here was hard and nata was too sweet.

Will's Tip: let them mix the stone pot rice for you and ask for less sugar on the passionfruit tea as the nata gets too sweet towards the end.

TGIF! And Friday is lunch out day. We had a hard time choosing a place to try in MOA since most places here are typical and branched out restaurants you usually find in malls. We finally decided on Watami since we love Japanese food and this seemed like a place that offers quality food.

This place is huge! We had a hard time choosing our seats, until a server led us to the couch near the bar area. The place seemed gothic to me, with the red and black themed interiors, and rectangular lightings completing the Japanese restaurant look.

As soon as we were seated, the staff introduced herself to us and provided us with the menu. We ordered the pepper beef rice in stone hot pot, chasu rice in stone hot pot and the cold soba. After ordering, a manager approached our table to offer their premiere card (Bistro Group). We were surprised with her approach as we found her a bit aggressive. We politely rejected her offer but she continued to mention the benefits of having the card. This isn't a bad thing, just thought to write about it, in case you guys are interested 128522

Our orders arrived after around 15 minutes. The servers asked us if we would want them to mix the rice bowls for us, and we said yes. (Which explains the messed up photo 128557128557128557).

Pepper Beef Rice in Stone Hot Pot P295
This was okay. It tasted okay, is reasonably priced and the serving was a lot, although it's nothing new and unique. Yes, it was filling, but there's no wow factor. I think this is the safest item you can order from the menu. Although my friend said that some part of it was bland, so she had to put lots of chili.

Chasu Rice in Stone Hot Pot P245
This was okay. This is cheaper than the beef, although the serving is pretty much the same. However, I preferred the beef over this one, since I found this dish inconsistent. The taste of the chasu and other seasonings used were not fused well to create the dish. A spoonful with chunks of chasu was good, but if you get a scoop with more rice, then you'll notice the difference in terms of flavor. This made me go back to the kitchen to add some pepper and finish cooking 128513 Although the chasu in itself was good.

Cold Soba P225
I didn't get to taste the cold soba, but according to my friend, it was so terribly bland.

Service was good. Servers were quick to attend to our needs. They were friendly to a polite and "just doing our job" level.

They also have a restroom inside their restaurant, and thank goodness it's a clean one.

Overall, we came out of the restaurant happy and full, but I found no reason to come back to it. My colleague recommended that we try the "fatty salmon" next time, but I don't eat raw food, so still no reason to return. Maybe you guys can try it out and tell me what you think 128522

PhP195 for a 2-piece ordinary-tasting maki. This screams highway robbery. Even if I have the Bistro card, it's still unreasonable in terms of quality & quantity. Never coming back here.

I find here lots of interesting things on its menu. But in the end i ordered their watami gyu in hot plate. They use special
Plates that are made from certai type of rock in which the meat and rice doesnt stick so much. Their passionfruit tea is also a must try. 9786

Salmon with Flying Fish Roe in Stone Hotpot, priced at approximately 300php. The serving was so small and there were only super few strips of salmon :-( It tasted okay though.

Back to this Japanese casual restaurant, ordered the Watami salad, fresh crisp lettuce and romaine with their dressing, topped with strips of meat, shredded crab stick, yellow corn, mushroom. The beef pepper rice in stone pot was good, sukiyaki was delicious, tempura crispy on the outside, shrimp remains soft. The clams in stone pot was also good... Got a bonus to watch live telecast of Gilas vs China basketball game

Watami's perfectly marbled beef grilled on your personal skillet. Just thinking of this yakiniku makes me drool.

The Watami salad is indeed the salad for those who are not into salads. Had the half order and it filled me up, considering my monstrous appetite. I also enjoyed the sirloin steak Yakiniku (though the Yakiniku sauce was served late) and the fried chicken wings. :)

Their Watami Salad is really to die for!
The lettuce and broccoli is fresh and crispy. I love their mayo dressing, not thick but creamy. Sooo delicious!

A must try is the takoyaki with cheese! Yummy! We also tried the short ribs but it was like a chewing gum. 128532 we didnt mind it because we are already solved with the salad. 128522

For drinks, the passionfruit with mango green tea tastes good and its big! 128522

It was a choice between Chinese or Japanese cuisine that one fine noon, and Watami Japanese Casual Restaurant had us with their free Chicken Wings which, by the way, was a hit!

We were glad to have spent the afternoon in this classy and spacious restaurant. They offer a wide food selection and the prices are fine.

I wouldn't pretend to know the language of foodies in describing the dishes we ate, but I'll recommend instead the best of what we were able to try. You would probably love their Spicy Tuna Tempura roll and the Pepper Beef Rice in Stone Pot. The assorted skewers were also interesting. I would go on and just say, believe me, this Japanese restaurant is authentic and satisfying. Great food, great place, great crowd, great staff.

It ruined my night cos I saw a maggot (didn't manage to look for more) in my Watami salad. 128557 bad vibes. I understand that it is organic, but I don't eat maggots and it only means that they don't clean/wash their veggies.
