After a tiring Pokehunting until midnight around Salcedo, my friends and I decided to do a gym battle next.

Wait what, why is this about Pokemon already. Well, that is because Whistlestop aside from being a 24hour restaurant is also a Pokemon Gym. To cap our Pokemon night, we ordered the Goto and Tokwa. We like their Goto, Tokwa and Tokwa't Baboy since it has a serving size that is good for sharing. Their tokwa is really good too.

Had the beef tapa. Their menu seems reasonably priced, just wasn't very hungry/in the mood to try their other options.

The beautiful thing about Whistlestop is that they are open 24 hours a day; From breakfast, until you're ready to sober up from a night of partying, until the wee hours of the morning.

It's quite evident on their menu that you can run to them to either perk up your day or recover from the night before. The menu ranges from the all-time breakfast favorites, Tapsilog, Adobo, Bangsilog (eggs done your way), to their signature Beef Salpicao, Country Fried Chicken Steak, and Baby back Ribs.

Also, if you must only eat one dessert at this place, get the Banoffee Pie. IT'S SO, SO, GOOD! And I think that's saying something when a place that doesn't at all specialize in desserts, has a delicious Banoffee Pie.

The only downside to it is that Whistlestop is always packed and the restaurant itself isn't that big. They have outdoor seating but can only seat a few people as well. Other than that, I love this place because the food is good, affordable, and their service is fast - like the servers are always alert and orders come in after a short wait. Always a fan.

Cheers
Mickey

Our default late night go to place. Why? Because its open for 24 hours. Every meal that we've ordered here so far are good.

Here's a list of food that we've ordered so far that never failed us

1.) Sinigang
- Tried this last night and this was goooooood! It's like a homecooked sinigang that is perfect for sharing

2.) Tokwat' Baboy
- Also good for sharing. Tokwa cooked perfectly

3.) Barbeque (3pcs)
- I order this when I want something which is cheap but delicious

4.) Beef Salpicao
- one of their best sellers. It can come with rice or pasta

5.) TRUFFLE CAKE
- we ordered 2 slices in 1 sitting during our last visit. It was just damn gooooood

This resto deserves a lot of credit for cooking their food well. Will be writing ñdmore about this resto on my next visit

Went here a few weeks ago after shift to meet up with my high school friends. Since it was pretty late, got there quickly and parking was a breeze.
Got their caipirinha. Decent but could use a bit more sweetness. Tried the wings also, too spicy IMO. The nachos were good as usual. We stayed in the a/c section but later on moved outside so all of them could smoke.
Ok all in all. Service was good too but not stellar. Good joint if you're looking for a 24/7 place.

Drank a couple of beers with a few friends one Saturday night. It was my first time here, so I figured to order the no boneless chicken wings since it was their best seller. They were nothing special, my boyfriend said it was too spicy, but it was tolerable.
Local Beers are reasonably priced at php 50 for a bottle. Cocktails were around the php 140 range. I tried the 'caipirinha' which was quite good, it had the right amount of alcohol. It's slightly similar to a mojito. My friend ordered a frozen Margarita which looked like a bright red slurpy and tasted like there was 0% alcohol 128530.
I'd come back for the chill ambiance and cheap beers, I'd probably try some of the other food aswell. The burgers and tapa seem quite popular.

This place is an institution! They've been around longer than my entire lifespan and they're still going strong because they serve delicious food 24/7. :) just had lunch here today and ordered the vintage tapa (php250). So good! Loved the slightly sweet taste of the tapa, and the meat was quite tender. It came with a good helping of garlic rice, 2 fried eggs and bread - what a great value meal!!

Their whistle-izzas are another all-time fave, approx php175 per order. Decent sized number of open faced tacos, good as a starter or for pulutan. :)

The last time i was here, they were renovating it. It looks so much better now. Had the beef tapa and i don't remember how it tasted but it saved me from the alcohol.

On the food: Beed Salpicao pasta?! Never heard of it until my boss had me try it. The beef tasted really good. But found the overall taste of the pasta too salty.

The best beef tapa ever!!

Went here alone one saturday morning 127774

128073the place is currently under renovation. So prepare yourself to some annoying sounds. 128297128296 also this is a drinking place for some call center people (i believe) so expect group of people drinking which are too loud as if they own the place 127867128544128548

128077 The serving of beef tapa for 170php was big for me. I even ordered an extra rice :) What I loved about their tapa was its tender, well cooked but its not dry. Soooooo perfect with their vinegar 128077 what I want to know is the difference between the beef tapa and the vintage beef tapa? Aside from the price 128556

128077Service was okay. Staffs are quick.
128077value for money. Since i had a happy tummy.

Will surely go back!' 128523

Aside from the fact that it is open 24/7, Whistlestop also offers a wide range of variety of food in the menu. Not your usual midnight snack menu across the street because the food is a little bit pricey for the like. It is airconditioned and very different from your usual 24/7 Pares and Mami house. They serve fantastic whistlelitas which is a must try!

They're renovating but half (or should I say 1/8) of the restaurant is still operational. Don't even think about coming here while they're at it unless you want your bread with molds, your veggies cold - the pop in your microwave kind, or if its ok with you for them to take a full hour to cook tuna.

I've always wondered about the main difference between their regular Tapa and the 1977 Vintage Tapa. Well now I know, the latter comes with vintage oatmeal buns - panis, it smelled like and looked like it was indeed from the 1970s. 128078

It took about 45 minutes before they were able to serve the Ribs with the wrong side dish. My colleague asked for mixed veggies in replacement for pork & beans but I guess they forgot. The waiter kindly took the dish back to the kitchen but when it was served again, it had a bigger trouble. They used store bought microwave veggies and it was still cold. It was the usual mix of corn, peas and carrots, and when your other side dish is (also) a generous serving of corn, it doesn't quite match. We would appreciate if upon ordering, the waiter will set your expectation or recommend a better alternative.

The grilled tuna arrived an hour late.

The beef salpicao was ok but I am too disgusted to have nice words for it.
