Either we were really hungry or the food was just that good!

The Beef Rendang was fantastic. They didn't skimp on the beef and it had the perfect blend of spices and coconut. Delicious!

Another dish we ordered was the Crispy Tawilis. Generous portions of tawilis, wonderfully crispy, and they weren't too salty. 128077

Well this came as a surprise. We had reservations about going here since it was empty during dinner time & we had assumptions that the food might not be good but what's amusing is that the food is actually superb. Loved the prata, flavor is on point and would have been perfect of only they were able to achieve the flaky texture we love. The butter chicken was yummy still though it wasn't as creamy as we like. In fact, it was a bit tangy but the chicken was really tender. The laing was good too, i reckon they use fresh leaves? If not, then they got me there. The lamb adobo which was recommended by the server was more a tangy adobo type. The kind that uses more vinegar, not a fave version of adobo for us but it's good anyway. The lamb was gamey too but we like it that way. The only bad dish we had was the pad thai. It's super bad I even asked bf if it was about to or is spoiled already. All in all we had a good meal and I'm happy to know I've got more options now at the groundfloor 128523128523128523.

I like the fact that Wild Ginger offers a variety of flavor from different parts of southeast asia. Their menu ranges from Indonesian, Malaysian, Indian, Filipino and Vietnamese to name a few. I would recommend this place especially if you can't decide what type of food your really want to go for.

We had palak paneer (indian), beef rendang (indonesian) and chicken tikka masala (british national dish). Yes, you read it right. I was surprised too. I've been eating chiken tikka masala for a long time and i've always thought it is an indian food.

I loved their chicken tilka masala and palak paneer. The beef rendang, not so much, i find it too sweet.

We asked the server at that time to confirm if it is true or it was just a typographical error or simple lack of research. 128514128514128514 As explained by the server, tikka masala was actually from india but was introduced to UK. The british loved it and made it their national dish - interesting.

You may check the link below too for the origin of chicken tikka masala. 128521

I've always been a fan of Singapore's curry laksa, so when I discovered that Wild Ginger has a gluten-free version of the Spicy Seafood Laksa, I couldn't resist! 128525 Actually craving for this yummy soup right now. 128523 It's perfect as a cold remedy too when you're sick 127836 together with the lemongrass tea.128076🏻

I only liked the "spinach and daal chapati". the chicken adobo is awful! i cannot recognize the taste, definitely not adobo! the beef rendang is tender and good, but it has a rich lemongrass taste that i did not appreciate.

I've been going back to this plate lately so why not go back to the places I used to go and this time review them. I still don't get though why this place is called Wild Ginger. Not many of these dishes has that ingredient in it. Case in point, all we ordered.

What we had was a combination of Vietnamese and Indian food. Yes, both cuisines dont use ginger either. There were good ones and bad ones on the four dishes we had among the three of us.

What were good: Indian Chicken Curry. Good chicken portions, curry spiced just right and i love the presence of potatoes and tomato with it. Pomelo Salad was presented differently. The fruit was super sweet and it complemented well with the sour dressing.

What were bad: Spring rolls were bland and mostly just wrap and senseless veggies. There is a very tiny shrimp hidden. Another forgettable was their almost burned Chicken Pandan. The photos are dark for a reason.

Our Indian Colleague chose to eat here since he's a vegetarian. I'm not a fan of food with curry but we ordered roti, spring rolls and pad thai.

I loved the roti. Even if it is served with curry. Taste blended well. Spring rolls are delicious especially the peanut dip.

Pad thai was good. But I cannot finish it because there's too much serving. I think its good for two. Best consumed also when hot. But I will not order this pad thai again. Hahaha. Not really satisfied my tastebuds.

I must say I'm really not a fan of Southeast Asian food. 128557

Send off dinner for Uncle.  Yabu is full,  Franco's menu is too limited,  we are not in the mood for Chinese or Filipino,  Cafe Mediterranean is not an option (Tita and Grams is not yet acquainted with Middle Eastern fare).  We settled on Wild Ginger.

Asian Fusion Cuisine.  That's my initial assessment upon looking at their menu.  They have Rendang,  Pad Thai,  Laksa,  Spring Rolls,  Curry and Adobo.  Pretty diverse eh?  We ordered the following:

Laing.  Got a spoonful.  This was okay,  coconut milk cooked perfectly but it lacks the richness that I am looking for in laing.  Kanin Klub's version is still the best for me.

Wild Ginger Chicken Adobo.   Grams liked this.  She said the meat is cooked perfectly,  fall-off-the-bone tender.  I wonder why there too much sauce?  I like my adobo dry and full of garlic.

Roti Prata with Curry Dipping Sauce.  Lemme indulge you with a lil bit of Wiki Information.

Roti prata is a fried flour-based pancake that is cooked over a flat grill. It is usually served with a vegetable- or meat-based curry and is from Malaysia and Singapore. Prata is also commonly cooked upon request with cheese, onion, banana, red bean, chocolate, mushroom or egg.

I can eat this all day.  The flaky flatbread is fresh off the oven upon serving.  Soft dough with a lil charring on the surface.  Best paired with the spicy curry dip.  The dip is crazy spicy,  jusy the way i like it.

Seafood Laksa.  Yes,  i almost overdosed on spices and chili last night.  The broth is rich,  flavorful and flaming hot.  One spoonful will set your mouth on fire.  As for the seafood element - tofu,  squid balls and a shitload of shrimp.  There are 6 shrimps on the small bowl,  this goes to show that they dont skimp on the ingredients and you get your money's worth.  I would've preferred serving this on a bigger bowl.  some customers might prefer more broth.

Overall,  we were satisfied with Wild Ginger,  i am definitely coming back for the roti prata.

I feel terrible when I pay for a dish I find “meh” or worse… “blargh”. I had that sentiment last Friday when I had lunch at a ramen place in Rockwell. The broth had a very odd taste and the appetizer we ordered was too salty. It’ll take me a long while before I decide to visit that place again. The only perk I got from the lunch was when my colleague mentioned a list of restaurants I have to try. One of the restaurants she mentioned was Wild Ginger.

Hello, Wild Ginger!

I always pass by this restaurant and it never really made me curious as I only see a few people eat here. But since my colleague mentioned that this quaint restaurant serves good food, I had to give it a try.

R was indecisive that night so I ordered for the both of us: Pad Thai (PHP245), Thai Green Chicken Curry (PHP285), and Asian Tomato Soup (PHP135). I also got a glass of cold Calamansi juice (PHP75).

I was a bit iffy to order the tomato soup as it mentioned “spices from the East Indies” but I assumed that it wouldn’t be spicy. WRONG. It was so spicy that it made me cough and tear up. People who love spicy dishes would like this though.

The Pad Thai was quite lovely. It had a generous serving of flat noodles and shrimps. R tried to get my shrimps though when he saw me saving it. (I like to save the best for last.)

I loved the Thai Green Chicken Curry. It was rich in flavors and the chicken was so tender. I loved putting the curry sauce on my rice and munching on the chicken with the eggplant bits. This is a must order dish!

I’ll definitely visit again but I’ll skip the tomato soup next time.

Meeting day at Rockwell so got to dine out in power plant. My officemate and I wanted to catch up so we looked for a cozy place with not much people and we ended up here. The place isn't bad. It's just a bit pricier than most of the other restos here so people don't go ga ga over it.

In my opinion, the food is actually good and the service is above average. The only curve ball is that it's pricey and the servings are usually big for 1 person (but they never say that in the menu) so people get turned off. Flavor wise, it's not bad.

I ordered the hainanese chicken which was around p330 and it said good for 1. When it arrived it was good for 1... 1 small family. Half chicken ba naman dumating at isang bandehadong Kanin? Last supper? Hahaha. Joking aside, I immediately realized that it was!5 bad for p330. The serving was big. But I think too big for 1 person. If they can have a quarter of the chicken then offer it at half the price, that'd be winner!

The chicken was good but I've had better but the sauces were a lot and it complemented the meat well.

Overall the place is a must try. But wouldn't frequent it as its too pricey for a frequent meal.

Their Sticky Toffee Pudding will definitely break the stereotyped thinking of having desserts chilled. Feast into the warm spongy goodness of chocolate sailing on a generous sea of caramel and milk! I think I heard the angels singing with my first bite;) #immaculatemessofhotsinfulgoodness

The place was nice. I love the white interior. It reminds me of mountains in Vietnam or China. The staffs are friendly.

The food was OK. They need more seasoning but acceptable. The price was OK but I think it's better if they will serve authentic drinks rather than powered.

Maybe I just ordered the wrong dishes. I Was not impressed at all with the presentation or taste. It looked sad and taste was forgettable. The orders came out very fast which led me to believe that their dishes are probably pre-made. Fried chicken adobo was nothing special. Its basically fried chicken with a side of adobo-ish sauce. Bagoong fried rice was so-so, and the laing dish was the only memorable out of the three. It had a spicy kick to it which made it at least enjoyable to eat. I'll definitely come back to try their beef rendang and roti with curry. Service was decent.

We were so excited to dine here and today is the day. We ordered their best sellers, beef rendang, pad thai and the hainanese chicken. I was kinda impressed with the pad thai, but I believe the one in banana leaf is better. The hainanese chicken seems normal, but it comes with 3 sauces that I personally would prefer the asado like sauce, yes, as in asado like the one you put in your siopao 128516 next would be the beef rendang. I was disappointed with this one because it's a bit salty for me in my opinion. Plus the fact that the beef serving was not that reasonable for its price. We were billed P900+ for those three dishes. Pricey? Maybe...

Cream Dory fillet could be a boring dish but once you mix it with tomyum sauce, flavors come alive and the food is boring more. This was my experience at Wild Ginger. Also got to sample the fresh spring rolls, seafood salad and chicken pandan which did not disappoint me. To top it all, the price was just right. I love the place!

Ordered their fresh & crispy spring rolls, beef rendang, chicken pandan, and red, green & yellow rice!! Everything was very good, except for their spring rolls which were quite ordinary :) I especially liked the super fragrant green rice and their beef rendang!! Servings are good for sharing and require a lot of rice and water hehe. Their prices are quite reasonable and the servers were very attentive and thoughtful. The only thing I didn't like was the taste of their house water. It tasted a bit like soap/sink?? (Not that I know how sink tastes HAHA) we had to order drinks right away. Most of the food is spicy pa naman so I suggest you order bottomless iced tea :)

First time in this restaurant bec. a friend found the name to be unique. I don't usually go for a southeast asian resto bec. I always think it is more of a Viet-Thai taste which I'm not really a fan of, but their food selection has a lot of varieties in it.

I ordered Lamb adobo while my friend had a shrimp salad. I loved the Lamb adobo! That weird after taste of lamb with hint of vinegar and soy just fits perfect!

Price are reasonable because of their generous serving, and food quality. This will definitely be added on my frequent resto to go to.
