This is my ultimate go-to spot for my monthly Brazilian waxing sessions!

While they are renowned for their laser and Revlite treatments, Wink also offers topnotch waxing treatments.

Their BGC branch is located near my office so I usually head here during work breaks. Make sure you make an appointment in advance because they usually get full.

Although pricier than Lay Bare (a Brazilian waxing session is P680 compared to Lay Bare's P500), you're definitely getting your money's worth!

Everything is superbly pristine here. Clean facilities right from their waiting area to their private rooms. One minor comment though is that their aircon can be super cold sometimes so the application of hot wax can feel even hotter 128557.

Service is excellent as always. Each wax technician I experienced was friendly from beginning to end. I liked how they always let me know when everytime they applied the wax and asked if its too hot.

They also practice a strict no double-dipping policy, which is super important! They also take their time to make sure everything is removed.

I'm not going to lie though, don't expect your Brazilian waxing session to be pain-free. If you have a low pain tolerance like me, it's going to hurt AF. They also give you a stress ball to squeeze (but you don't get to keep it! 128518).

When I save enough money to get laser, this is the place I'll definitely head to Wink for sure.

I've been a regular of this branch for almost two years now. Though pricey, they do not disappoint. Being close to the office makes it so much easier for me to pop in for a quick visit during lunch break, and they are soooo accommodating with last-minute changes in schedule.

I recently got an underarm laser package after a looong time of arm twisting (heh) but the results were immediate. And after a few tryouts, I may have settled on a new wax therapist after my long-time therapist left last year. A good therapist will go a long way in making that painful leg or brazilian wax more bearable.

I loved them on my first and 2nd visit. 1st visit, they already explained to me the things to do when getting laser. 2nd visit, i was early by about 20minutes for my appointment but they accommodated me immediately.

I'm on my 3rd visit right now and i'm sitting, waiting for than 20minutes and it's past my appointment time already. Grrrrr

Really clean and hygienic place with no double dipping. Never going back to laybare! Their online booking system is also very convenient and attendants are also registered nurses so you know you're in good hands 128077

This place is often compared to Strip as they say. Well they have the same style but they don't use flavored wax.

The price is very good. It is like half of what you pay for Strip. The place is very clean to begin with. The bed is wrapped with paper, for strip it is wrapped with towels. So for me, towels are more comfortable and softer of course. For me, I find that it is more painful to get it done here. Whenever they pull, it is not in one go, so it makes it even more painful. Also, they don't warn you before pulling.Boo! Thank goodness I know when to take a deep breath. I screamed a bit for a few times because it was a painful experience. I hope nobody heard them...

Thank goodness the staff is nice to do some breaks in between painful pulls and she was very nice as well. Also, the treatment is very quick.

For students they give 500 off the ipl sessions.

I've never been a fan of waxing, mainly because I'm such a wuss... I don't see the point of having to go through wax burns and the pain that hair pulling induces.

It's already summer, and I can't wait to hit the beach... But then flaunting your body would require some extra special care. I thought long and hard about getting a Brazilian wax, and how much it would cost me.

Before getting waxed, I was torn between Wink and another high end waxing salon in the area. Looking at the prices online and here in Looloo, it seems like the former would be my best bet for my money, and it's way nearer my office. Price-wise, it isn't as affordable as another famous budget-friendly wax salon, but I didn't mind the additional 180 bucks I'll shell out for the mere convenience of Wink's proximity to my office. So I booked an appointment online two hours before my preferred schedule.

I was pleasantly surprised to have quickly received an SMS from Wink regarding the receipt of my appointment. Being a first timer in this particular waxing salon, putting premium on customer service really made me feel at ease.

I loved the interiors and how clean the rooms were. They used disposable bed sheets instead of towels, and I understand that using the latter can be icky. And the place had a clean scent to it!

My technician, Mylene, was super professional about the whole process. I don't believe in painless waxing procedures, but I can assure you that I did not wince as much as I expected to. I was really glad that the procedure wasn't as painful as it usually is! Also, NO DOUBLE DIPPING. Yay! After the 30 mins procedure, Mylene handed me the post-wax care sheet. Pretty informative, I should say.

Overall, I'm really satisfied with their service, and I'm totally coming back here in the future for another hair removal procedure. And maybe even splurge on their laser hair removal packages :)

I may have found the best alternative to Strip. So this review is a comparison between the two - Strip, my trusted waxing salon for the past 2 years VS my new go to place, Wink.

CLEANLINESS / HYGEINE:
Strip - gives free feminine wipes; bed is covered with fresh towels; entire establishment is clean and smell of the place is good 128077
Wink - does not have fem wipes but has a ladies room with fem wash, bidet, paper towels etc. - very clean but there's very little space; bed is not covered with towel but is covered with disposable wax sheet; entire establishment is clean and smell of the place is also good 128076

PAIN LEVEL on a scale of 1-10:
Strip - 3; almost painless 128077
Wink - 6; twice as painful but tolerable 128076

HANDLING TIME:
Strip - 15 minutes
Wink - 25 minutes

PRIVACY and COMFORT:
Strip - therapist only comes in the room after you've undressed and then leaves you to get dressed privately 128077
Wink - therapist joins you inside the room the whole time 128078

STAFF
Strip - some jolly, some deadma 128078
Wink - all jolly and friendly 128077

PRICE - Brazilian
Strip - 1200 128078
Wink - 680 128077

Strip still offers the best service but given the price difference, Wink appears to be the more practical choice.

There are a few drawbacks in choosing Wink but nothing that a few adjustments can't cure.

- no towels? Well, I realized that it's ok to lay bare on a disposable sheet of wax paper. It's more hygienic than laying on washable towels. Although towels are much comfier.

- no fem wipes? Then come in newly bathed hehe. Or bring your own wipes. It's a huge hassle to use their wash room because there is not much space and it's eeeky to use public bidets kaya! Hehe! And if they run out of paper towels, what will you use to cover the toilet seat? #sosygirlproblems

- not much privacy? Well there's nothing the therapist hasn't seen anyway

- longer handling time? Well, what's another 10 minutes of scanning looloo while getting worked on, right?

- a little more painful? Well, it's tolerable and you will only have to endure it every so often. And the operative word is "little".

Overall recommendation:
For first timers, choose Strip.
For maintenance, when hair strands are thinner, choose Wink. 128521

I'm a card-carrying member of that popular waxing franchise. The only problem is my free time is incompatible with their cut-off time. And working at BGC makes travelling on a deadline extra challenging.

I decided to try Wink when I discovered it on a deal website, for three reasons:
1) it is only a couple of blocks away from my office
2) they have an online booking system, where you can block off time depending on the service you are availing (you also avoid accidental eavesdropping on phone conversations lol)
3) they close at 9pm
Seriously, it is worth the higher price just for the convenience alone.

They have very courteous staff who don't make you feel harrassed even when you're almost late for the appointment. It's a good thing too that they explicitly provide a grace period. While the attendant would make suggestions for return business, I didn't feel like being given a hard sell.

Interiors are neat and relaxing. Lights are more subdued than Strip's bright lighting. I loved the orange theme in the room I was taken to, I felt like I was in a Candy Crush room :) I'm not a big fan of the steel bed, but I can understand that it's more of a cleanliness thing.

The service is stellar, as expected. No double dipping is standard. The wax was a little too hot, but still tolerable. But the important thing is that I was given a 20-min slot for two areas, and I was done in 19 mins. This just shows how realistic the booking system is.

Will definitely come back :)

My favorite hair removal place in town. Spick and span in their interiors and in their practice, high quality products--from sanitation to the waxes to the laser device (only diode lasers here, the only laser that matters!)--registered nurses to attend to your skin concerns. I have a lot of sensitivity and a low tolerance for pain. This is my go-to place for body hair removal not only for the premium they give with their products and services but for such reasonable prices. Check the rates, most affordable high-end hair removal place in Manila!

Eyebrow waxing... yes, not threading. 128563

To be honest, I was expecting threading went I went up. It's my first time to put wax on my face and I was a bit nervous... I even asked the lady, "ate, hindi naman matatanggal yung kilay ko dba?" Ate Lyn laughed and assured me that has never happened before, phew! :))

About my experience:
They use hot wax, apply it and pull it off. It stings a bit but since the portion is small, it doesn't hurt so much... or maybe that'll depend on your tolerance... 128539

The lady was also very gentle. 128134 After waxing, she plucked the little ones that didn't come off. I liked that she took her time and made sure I was satisfied with the outcome before letting me go. 128513

Anyway, it wasn't bad! I actually liked it... but I still like threading better.9996128129 But their service was awesome and deserves 5 stars! 128521

Oh, BTW, they don't trim the length. And, if you're wondering, their "eyebrow cleaning" costs Php300, more expensive than my usual threading. 128563
