PSA: If you don't get your order within 20 (or is it 30?) minutes, Yabu will consider it free of charge. This has already happened to me twice, including this visit.

We ordered our usual Rosu set and we also tried their limited Ebi Patty set. Both were good. If you're one of those who pay attention to their Japanese pickles, you'll notice they don't serve that anymore. They replaced it with cucumber. No, actually, they just give you cucumber if you ask for the pickles. According to the server, not a lot eat the pickles anyway. And they're all the way from Japan. 128532

So there. Our katsu sets were free and also our additional unlimited rice/veggie set. We just paid for our beverages and the service charge.

We had the mozarella sticks for appetizer which we instantly finished in just 10 mins hahaha we all love it. The katsu set comes with miso soup, cabbage and fruits. It wasn't oily at all. Wanted to try their ebi next time since my family are all allergic to seafood.

But will keep on coming back here. Though the place is always packed even on weekdays.

Yabu katsu is still one of the best in manila. Their rosu 80g set is very filling for 350php. Katsu is perfectly fried and it isnt oily at all.

I had the (chopped) shrimp katsu. It was pretty good, but i got oversatiated halfway through.

Katsu dinner with my college besties for some long overdue chikahan about anything and everything under the sun.

I had the Hire Katsu Curry with unlimited white rice, cabbage, miso soup and fruits. I love how only a part of the Hire Katsu was immersed in curry. The dry parts I dipped in the katsu sauce with sesame seeds. I should have requested for the normal spice level instead of the mild as the mild one was not spicy at all. The curry was good but lacked the kick. The potatoes and carrots were soft but could still be picked up with chopsticks. Loved the creamy sesame dressing for the cabbage. We had to really shake the container though as the thick dressing was slow to come out. The serving size was huge so I didn't request for more rice or cabbage.

Overall, great food with awesome company.

my daughter wanted to eat lunch here yesterday and i just gave in because I didn't know where to eat.

she had her porkchop with 2 bowls of rice. I ordered the prawn and cream dory katsudon 128077128077128077128077. i also ordered iced tea 128077128077128077128077 which came when i was half done eating my food. the French fries arrived when i was almost done eating. the place was not packed. i only ate a fry and told the server to doggy bag it. thanks to the manager who didn't charge us for the French fries.

also, in the middle of me eating, one of the servers (I think he's an ojt) asked if he can bus out my food. i said I'm not yet done. he didn't bus out my daughter's plate (she was done eating).

I would have posted 3 stars but they gave the fries for free so it's 4 stars.

I normally order just order a Hire Katsu Set when we visit Yabu but on their standees outside the restaurant, they were promoting their Katsu Pairs so I chose the Salmon + Rosu set. 128077🏼

I normally don't order seafood since it's not on the top of my favorites list but it's salmon, so it was worth trying. 128513

I enjoyed the salmon katsu! It came with a different sauce, which was tasted salty rather than sweet and sour like the normal katsu sauce. It complimented the salmon well. 128077🏼 The cook on the salmon was just right.

Dad ordered an extra katsu burger just because he wanted something extra and the fries. 128514 We all took a bite from the katsu burger, and I have to say it was pretty good! 128077🏼 Maybe next time I'm looking for a lighter option, I'll go with the burger.

Yabu is a great place if you want to get your tummies bloated! Its made up of great taste and their food is just lovely! If you want more of a variety, I'm afraid all you're getting from this place is different kinds of, Katsu. They've perfected it though.

Our orders arrived promptly. The dishes were perfect and just how we liked them. The breading is always fresh and never oily, perfect with the tender pork katsu and katsu sauce. It’s nothing short of amazing that Yabu has managed to maintain the great quality of their food.

They also have unlimited rice, cabbage, miso soup, fruits for dessert, its a great value for your money.

Yabu branch in here is smaller compared to other branches, but I absolutely love the ambiance of the place, the wooden squares on the walls are a nice touch too!

The staffs are courteous, accommodating, friendly and they attend to your needs immediately. Even though it might cost that much, its still worth every penny. And the fact that you have unlimited sides makes it even better.

my kids wanted to go to Robinsons magnolia for our weekly Friday dinner. i was hesitant at first because I don't want to go to the mall on Friday nights because it's very difficult to find an empty parking spot. we were lucky because there were hundreds of spaces available 2 nights ago.

the kids wanted to eat here and since I didn't know where to eat, I'm ok with their decision. the place was packed and we were lucky enough that two tables suddenly opened up. we got one.

for the appetizer, i wanted the potatoes and egg salad. 128077128077128077128077128077

for my main course, I ordered the gyudon. 128077128077128077128077 some pieces of the gyudon was soft and the other pieces were hard. without the sauce the taste was bland. with the sauce, it was delicious.

i also ordered a green mango shake 128077128077128077128077

airconditioning was warm.

If you love anything Japanese, especially katsu, Yabu is definitely the place to go!

Food: 128151128151128151128151128151
Perfectly fried into golden brown and very crispy. Unlike other fried foods that are easily overcooked in the inside, its katsus are still tender and juicy. We both tried their Chicken Katsu set 180g and the price is so worth it (worth it that I had to take some of the chicken home for it's so big and my tummy's full).

Plus, everything in the set is UNLIMITED! From the rice (whether is Japanese white or brown rice) to the miso soup and the sliced cabbage.

And let's not forget their Furikake French Fries. Definitely the BEST fries I've ever had. They're obviously fresh you'll still see the skin on it, the mix of the spices compliments its starchy goodness, and it's fried to perfection. It's that good as it is, but if dipping it into its dip made with Japanese mayo and other spices, even BETTER!

Place: 128151128151128151128151128151
Since I'm the kind of person that loves feeling at peace and gets annoyed easily with too much noise and being in a very crowed place, I would say that this is located in a mall that doesn't have any noise nor is that much crowded. Plus the ambiance is very cozy that you'll enjoy your food even more, whether with a company or just by yourself.

Service: 128151128151128151128151
The crew is very polite and friendly to all customers. Although they are somewhat slow in serving food (we just saw another pair that had waited for their orders way longer than our waiting time, and the place is not that jam-packed yet). Still they had made our experience way better than what we expected (one of their shift managers will have her way to help the crew serve customers and will personally ask you about their food).

This is the first branch that I've visited so far, but it still exceeded my expectations. I would still like to go back here next time and/or try other branches as well.

Definitely worth recommending to my friends, colleagues, and family!

While waiting for chicken katsu, we decided to try Mozzarella sticks!

I initially thought the size would be small but when it was delivered to our table...it was huge! 128525

According to this article I've read online, Yabu's Mozzarella sticks are fat bricks of mozzarella wrapped in their signature panko coat. They added Japanese herbs on top of the bread crumbs. The best part is the Honey Mustard dip! It was so flavorful, I had to ask for a refill twice!

5stars for their service as always. I can't remember the name of the manager but she was extremely nice, very calm and helpful! Two thumbs up! 128077🏻128077🏻

Yabu sparked the katsu craze years back... We have not been back for some time and when it was my turn to choose a restaurant, I remembered Kathryna d's post about their new menu item, their mozarella sticks... So, Yabu it is!128515

This is their first branch in the metro and there used to be a really long line for one to dine in this place... Years later, nothing has changed... We arrived for early dinner on a Friday night and the place was packed! Apparently, the katsu craze has yet to die down...

We patiently waited for our table to be ready... When we were finally called, we were ready to order...#girlscout We ordered the panko crusted mozarella sticks as an appetizer... One of their new menu items, but very popular as I saw other tables ordering the same thing... For our mains, I got the Menchi Curry Katsu set, while my bf got the Hire Katsu in the biggest size that they had...

The mozarella sticks were served first... Just look at that picture! Deep fried panko on the outside forming a crisp layer that envelops the stringy mozarella inside... Served with a spicy aioli dip... Love at first bite!128525 If you don't want to get addicted, then fine don't try it... But if you like any form of fried cheese, then please find the nearest branch and order this dish... Loved that crunchy panko crust! We will meet again, you cheesy crispy dish!128513

I enjoyed my menchi curry katsu-- yes, cheese again! Yabu's curry is very strong, not for the faint of stomach... I got the regular spicy level and it was already pretty hot... Personally, I find that cheese, curry, and fried meat together will always be a great combination. Despite the heat, I enjoyed my order immensely...

Of course my companion finished his Hire katsu in record time and with two cups of rice to go with it... 128517

As usual, service was great and snappy! Glad that they have maintained the same level of quality as when they started, in terms of both food and service!128077

Halfway done with my backlogs, yey!!!128588

the place is semi-full for a monday evening! ordered my usual salmon katsu set and requested it to be fried well-done (they usually do it medium well) since i will be sharing this dish with my 1-yo son while my husband ordered rosu katsu set. both were good especially when paired with hot miso soup and their yummy japanese rice. my son loved every single bit of it!

Chocolate Lava Cake!

It's a warm chocolate cake bursting with more chocolate inside with vanilla ice cream, bits of caramel cookies on the side with caramel sauce!

This is way better than the chocolate lava cake that I've tried before. The serving was just right, already enough for two people.

I know for sure that I'll be ordering this again on my next visit! 128522
