We ate at Yabu lunch time, we only waited for a while since we're only two, my husband and I. I ordered salmon katsu set meal (well done) since salmon is good for the baby (I am pregnant) and my husband ordered chicken and he ordered an extra katsu, pork, so that we can try all the katsu available.
I liked the chicken because it was "siksik." Never tinipid! And the pork was so tender and juicy. We requested for brown rice because I'm not allowed with white because of my gestational diabetes. I cannot consume 1 cup but with brown rice I ate it all. 128513 I also like the unli rice and unli cabbage salad. 128513 I love the sesame dressing. 128077

I am dissatisfied with the service.

First, I requested for fork and spoon. It never came until the third time I asked for it. I am not comfortable using chopsticks but I have to use it because of the long wait time.

Second, one of their servers asked if I want more cabbage and rice. I said, "Yes." As expected, he didn't come back. Ridiculous!

Third, you have to wave your hands as if there's an emergency or you're calling for help for them to notice you. They're not attentive at all.

2-star rating because of the terrible service.

The food is great. No question about it! Better visit their other branch.

It is our first time at Yabu. Good thing that their menu has visuals at how the dishes look like which makes ordering not that hard. I also love that it has photos on how to enjoy your katsu and how to prepare the katsu sauce.
First you have to crush the black and white sesame seeds until most of the seeds are ground. The aroma brought by the ground sesame seeds are really appetizing and sets the mood for an awesome Katsu dining experience. Then you pour some tonkatsu sauce onto the ground sesame seed.
Viola, you now have the "best" Katsu sauce! :)

It was yesterday when my cousins, Mama and Mommy Emy decided to meet me at Megamall and have dinner at Yabu's branch located at Atrium.

Given its not so big space, the restaurant has a waiting line outside for those who can't be accommodate initially. Like the usual interiors of other Yabu restaurants, the decors were mostly made of simple and straightforward wood paired with mostly yellow ceiling decors that give it light and casual vibes.

From their very detailed menu, you'll see a lot of choices from the finest meat, chicken, seafood for their main katsu sets. Aside from these sets, they have other options including mozzarella sticks, salad, katsudon, ice creams, etc.

So for my order, I shared a Premium 180 grams Chicken Set that I opted to share with my Mama that came with unlimited Japanese or brown rice, miso soup, Japanese pickles, cabbage that came with dressing and a bowl of fruits including watermelon and pineapple.

The 180 grams serving was almost 8 inches long and very very thick so it can really be shared by 2 people. It was really tender, juicy and delicious. The whole dish was so affordable given its price of 395php.

I loved the Japanese rice a lot given its thickness, whiteness and softness. The miso soup, when served hot, is best eaten. My most favorite is their cabbage! When it's coldly served, it's best to drizzle the Goma and Wasabi sauces altogether and enjoy how tasty and delicious the simple salad is. After feeling so full, you'll definitely enjoy the fresh and sweet serving of the pineapples and watermelons. Remember, you can ask for the items again and again until you finally feel fulfilled.

Given that I shared the chicken with Mama, I discovered that for a refillable set, it will cost you 150php. Meaning, you can order a tonkatsu set and share the meat for as long as you order a refillable set wherein the rice, soup, cabbage and fruits are unlimited in serving too.

As always, Yabu was a good choice because we were all happily full after dinner that day. I really appreciate how nice and warm their servers can be. They always have those smiling faces when asking if you want items to be refilled. You can feel their joy in making other people feel happy. More than that, again and again, the food's tasty and really affordable given its serving size!

I went to the Digital Walker sale last week, and was unable to get a decent meal. I walked out at 6ish, almost time for my first decent meal of the day. I spotted Yabu and decided to treat myself. I got the chicken set, a first. Happy as always on the food, and oh the miso soup of course!

The worst Yabu customer service I've ever experienced. I love the food and I will definitely visit again but I will never come back to this branch.

So disappointed. 128532

Their tonkatsu is delicious but for me it's overpriced and overrated. There's no much difference with Tonkatsuya in Makati, which remains as my top choice for tonkatsu at an affordable price.

Because I craved for katsu, and this is the only one I know nearby my new workplace.

As compared to Tonkatsu by Terazawa, their hire (pork tenderloin) set is okay. Tonkatsu by Terazawa is tastier and I liked it more than Yabu's.

My hubby ordered the Seafood Katsu Set 2. I'm not a fan of seafoods so i didn't even asked for one. But according to him, the seafoods smell fresh and he enjoyed it.

Food is great, a lot better than competing Saboten. But, was disappointed that service has suffered. It was difficult to get the waiter's attention, unlike before that service was excellent

Grind.Pour.Mix.Dip. the yabu rituals.

If we are craving for some tonkatsu we go to Yabu the house of katsu. They have a welcoming ambiance in every branch we've been. We love their chicken tonkatsu set which comes with unlimited rice, miso soup, fruits and cabbage. For their latest they have a pair of katsu rosu & oyster, chicken & dory, rosu & prawn, rosu & salmon and chicken & menchi. I got the chicken & menchi and I love it. The meat was soft and tender. And the prices for their food is quite affordable!

Try their limited edition Ebi Patty Katsu! I highly recommend it. I was supposed to order their shrimp burger but it was out of stock. Nevertheless, this was still good. Worth the P470 price tag. 128077🏼 they use premium tiger prawns btw.

Servers were prompt and nice as usual.

Of course! Order their mozzarella sticks. You won't regret it...you might just order another one! 128539 truly one of the best that I've tasted. Not oily, generous servings, and crispy golden panko breading. 128524128524

Oh! Their pineapples were really sweet! I even asked for extra servings. 128539 Kudos to the team for serving only the best ingredients. 128076🏼

I just really love Yabu!

Adios! 128111
