I forgot to post a review about this last week. We have been visiting Yakimix since it opened years ago, so I kind of know what changes they did especially to the food choices they serve.

Before, I loved how fast they refill the buffet table but presently, it looks like they're waiting for people to get up and give up waiting before they refill it.

Before, tempura is really what a tempura should be, presently, its more of a fried batter with some shrimp meat. This is really disappointing. 🙄

I still love them though because now they added the self-serve drink machines so you won't have to ask for the staff to do it for you. Buuuut, what sucks is the ice in the ice chest near it isn't refilled always. Unsanitary considering that melted ice should be disposed immediately to prevent bacteria.

I haven't tried the Yakimix Prime and is curious what their differences are.

Grill skillz!

This is a buffet that offers food items you can grill as well as bits and pieces of other types of cuisines such as Japanese, Chinese, Filipino, Italian, American. Drinks all you can also! Went here with the family around 5:30 pm for an early dinner, sakto that's when the restaurant starts the dinner cut-off. That meant all the food plates were still fresh and full. However, selection is kind of limited. The food is pretty okay, though. Service is great! The staff was really attentive, would take out used dinner plates, change the grill plates, even offer to refill your drinks for you, all with a smile on their face.

The dinner buffet on weekends costs 685 pesos per person. Sulit na rin! :)

This branch is smaller than other Yakimix branches I've been to. And is it just me or they have fewer choices too? But food was great as usual and staff were very accommodating.

I love Yakimix because unlike other buffet restaurants, they don't compromise food quality. As someone who doesn't love Japanese (but always ends up eating at a Japanese place anyway), I actually liked their maki. I would also recommend their pizza! I think they used tuna for pizza topping and it was heavenly. Their desserts section is a bit of a disappointment if you're bringing in kids since the sweets lack flavor imo. It was good for me though, I can't keep myself away from desserts.

We paid around Php 2k for 3 people (dinner). Despite my love for food, I have an unbelievably small appetite. I only ate 2 pcs of siomai and tempura, a slice of pizza, a small bowl of soup, string beans, 1 pc of maki and desserts. I should have listened when my dad was teasing me to wait for them at Jollibee instead of coming along. I really don't get what I pay for at buffet places with this appetite. 128514

Delicious variety of food and a pleasant ambiance. Unlimited maki, seafoods & desserts plus yummy Filipino dishes. I love the concept of smokeless grilling! Affordable buffet for only 638. 128515128077128077128076

Which restaurant makes you feel special by greeting you on your way in (and out). Beef mushroom and the salmon were among personal best for this critic. Chicken was too hard though. Their selection of sushi was way better than most buffets. Coffee was surprisingly good and try mixing the sesame nuts with blueberry cheesecake (get back to me as to how it was ;-). Vanilla Pannacota is to die for as well for sweet toothed LooLoo members. Some minor flaws would be the small cockroach below the table thar presented near our meal and servers in a hurry in getting the plates still with food.

Music pumping in the background was very lively with house/r&b tracks. Compared to the staff at Podium, the servers here evidently show their enthusiasm in their work. Waitera were very alert with refills and amiable with kids. P538 lunch on weekdays, P638 for dinner and P688 for weekends, not bad at all. As the staffs say upon exiting "thank you very much."

The fun thing about going out without having made any decision where to eat is the eventual surprise. The girls and I had to run another set of errands yesterday and the only agreement was we eat where the road will take us. Thankfully, the way it went, we ended up near Dampa and were pulled by a "strong powerful force" to go to Yakimix.

This was our first time so we had no expectations other than we had to fill our growling stomachs. We were wowed by the expanse of the place. We were led to a comfortable booth that could seat six. The waiter took our drink orders and graciously instructed us to proceed to the buffet and make our choices.

There were too many options so I'm going to focus on what we actually pulled from the buffet. Appetizers consisted of salad greens, fresh sushi and sashimi, and clear soup. We made quick work of that and returned to get our main courses.

The main course was beef fillet, pork steaks, chicken cutlets, squid balls, fish cakes, shrimp, yakiniku, etc, etc, etc. Suffice it to say that we had a lot! What made this impressive was that all the raw meat ingredients and vegetables were fresh. Most notable was that a stand by person always replenished the items and kept the buffet area clean and drip free. This made the presentation of the dishes and raw items always neat and tidy. Also worth mentioning was the quick action of waiters to refill our bottomless lemonade and iced tea, regardless of who was attending to us in the first place. Service winners in my book!

Most buffets focus on main dishes and leave little by way of presentation and choice for desserts, not Yakimix. While it was not extensive, it was more than enough; halo-halo, ice cream scoops, ice cream sticks, flans, mousse, small cakes and candies. Mr Sweet Tooth went for a scoop each of mango and chocolate ice cream then piled on the toppings of candy sprinkles, marshmallows, M&Ms and walnuts. Enjoyed the whole experience. 128512

1 star less though for the wet and slippery restroom and what tasted like MSG in their special sauce. 128542

Saw two baby cockroaches eeep! 128586

One on our table. Another one lurking on the dessert table near the bowls of candy sprinkle, marshmallow etc.

I think if there are baby cockroaches, there ought to be a lot of them born at the same time lurking elsewhere inside the restaurant. 128561

But I realized that the restaurant is near a river/creek(?) and in my experience, there are more cockroaches in the area if you're near polluted water. 128586

Operations wise, they started sweeping the floor beside me while I'm still eating. The attendant accidentally brushed the broom to my foot and did not bother apologize for it. I can let it roll off my back but I think the act of sweeping the floor while people are still eating is wrong, I personally never sweep the floors when people are still eating, baka lumipad yung alikabok sa pagkain kawawa naman yung tao. Good manners lang. I understand it's nearing their off but I wish they'd clean the plates muna, clear the buffet tables(which they didn't) and hold the sweeping as the last chore to make sure customers wouldn't get dust and dirt on their food or just close at an earlier time so they'd have enough time to clean up.

I can understand their situation, maybe there's just something wrong with the location and operations management but I honestly would not want to visit this branch anymore.

My family and i have been to 3 different yakimix branches (greenbelt, moa, hobbies of asia), i would say greenbelt is by far the best among them (every branch serve different food) because it has more food selection.

If you dont have the patience to wait, better make a reservation and be on time! Kasi sa sobrang dami ng waiting, they will give up your reservation agad. you only have 15mins max! The first time we went (greenbelt branch) we were late for 30mins, we end up waiting almost 2hours before finally giving us a table. Well, its our fault naman not them. Hahaha!

The ambiance is really nice (especially the lights) but a little crowded :(
Food replenishment is a bit slow but everything looks fresh.

They have these electric grillers on every table, some are not really working well (macapagal branch) Personally, i think it's a bit dangerous, it might explode or something! So they should check them regulary, we have to call the crew several times to assist us because i think its busted! But thankfully the crew is very patient with us 128521

The price is cheaper compared to some of the famous buffet resto. Sulit naman 128522
