Ate here tonight. I 'felt' their collection of sashimi (called moriawase) became smaller in terms of slices. Been eating here for years. Love the dim ambiance, the attentive servers, and overall taste. Pictured above is their Rebaa, grilled chicken liver, which is 'hanep sa sarap' if liver is your thing.

They have live bugs served with their Gyudon. With their interiors and lighting dark, it's fortunate you can see it 128078🏼128078🏼128078🏼

The food is actually all right, we like their yakitori and their sizzling tofu and tempura. They have a good variety of sushi and sashimi too.

The service is also very good.two thumbs up! 128077🏻128077🏻128079🏻

Yaku is an amazing Japanese restaurant that started off as serving only Yakitori items base on my research thru net 128129
I really loved Yaku! Their food is good..whenever We decided to eat here, i always order my fave dish, their gyudon ( composed of beef strips with teriyaki sauce and egg ) picture posted....gyoza too really good..including free hot tea 9749️
I will still go back 1285239996️ "di ako magsasawa" promise 9995

Service was quick and the place was quiet enough for a decent meal. The sashimi was quite good, ie the uni was sweet(ghat i ordered another unimaki, the salmon was wild (or at least looked it). The waiters were smiling and didnt mind that i kept asking for hot tea.

It's always nice to experience free appetizers from resto's. Most Korean restaurants have more than 4 freebies. The dilis of Yaku was definitely worth its content (can fit 2 people). Had the boneless chicken which was juicy and crunchy but without the sauce, would be pretty average. Beef Teppanyaki was really really good. Both dishes plus a watermelon shake only roughy P800+. The servers noticed this food critic carrying sleeping 3yr old tempura monster so they immediately assisted us with a more spacious area with more pillows. They have a gadget so calling them for anything even the bill os easily accessible. Will definitely comeback for the other products on their menu. Hopefully the tempura monster has awaken to take the challenge .128076128516

Tried their Gyudon and it was just ok nothing great. The beef was not so tender. Taste-wise, it also lacked that certain "Japanese taste".

Guving it 3 stars for the service and because will guve it another chance. After all, this is another lunch place option.

Love the ambiance of yaku and also the hassle free of calling for order and bill with just one pish of the button. I remember that we went here the food was good, but last night it was different. Rice was dry although it is a japanese rice and the dish that we order was bland. Would love to give it another chance and hopefully we could be back there to try their grill menu.

Tucked away in a corner of the Podium's Level 3 is Yaku where I had my first real taste of gyudon. There was an instant gustatory connection that I thought could be found in other joints.

Well, tonight, I came back simply because Yaku's beef gyudon is, for me, the best in town. The rice is sticky the way Japanese rice should be, the beef perfectly seasoned, and the raw egg complementing the overall flavor to perfection.

I just found out the I left my wallet in my boyfriend's car last Saturday so we arranged to see each other today for lunch so I could get my HMO :) I needed to reschedule my appointment with the dentist at Dr. Smile so we decided to eat at Podium too.

Yaku has really nice interiors and good food all in all however lighting can be improved because it seems to be just a little bit dim inside and it's not the dramatic type of dim that usually gives restos a classy ambiance. Anyway, moving on to the focus of this review...

Orders:

1⃣ Assorted platter of sashimi (forgot the name but there's only one kind in the menu)
PhP305 11088️11088️11088️11088️
Very generous serving considering that it's priced at that (I'll be posting a pic of it on my Instagram @veanney08) it had 4 slices/pcs of tuna, salmon, crab sticks, and some white sashimi that had a similar texture to the uni (sea urchin) but it didn't leave that creamy after taste (or is it after feels? LOL 128514) on your tongue. It also includes a cucumber flower containing uni sashimi good for sharing as well.

2⃣ Unagi Don (photo above)
Php 349 11088️11088️11088️11088️11088️
This is probably my bfs usual at any jap resto that offers it. The unagi (eel) was really good and I didn't get any scaly texture in my mouth that I usually feel when eating unagi (even Izakaya Kikufuji's and Kuretake's versions gave me that scaly feels that I didn't really appreciate) so this really deserves a five stars. It's also made affordable by cutting back in the amount served but I am sure that it'll fill you up after 20 mins of digesting it and letting it settle in your stomach.

3⃣ Crazy Maki
Php 165 11088️11088️11088️
Good price and great taste but not so great texture. The salmon/tuna inside was over cooked and it gave every mouthful of the rolls that dehydrated feeling on your tongue with a spicy sensation that didn't really offset the dryness. This could have been a contender for the spicy toro maki of Nihonbashitei if they just left the beautiful fish raw :( On my next visit, I'll request the fish to be raw hehe 128523

All in all a good lunch. Definitely a value for money 128513 Service however could be improved. The Vellux (it's a push button service) is good but if none of the waiters even bother paying attention to it then what's the point? We reverted to the traditional "raise your hand to call the waiter" which was actually more efficient.

Similar to Nanbantei of Tokyo, but definitely cheaper. We got the unagi maki and the salmon sushi, I would think it's rather fresh since you don't get "the itchy feeling" on your tongue when the fish isn't fresh.

Not too expensive, priced right. Probably would have been cheaper had they not been located in Podium.

The place has good food & great service but the restaurant is so dark for dinner. The lights are too dim ala bar setup. Will probably eat here again but during daytime.
Must try: skewers & sushi

Everytime we go to podium we always eat here when we seek for japanese food. I love japanese food, and this restaurant is one of the most value for money. The ebi tempura here was so good, the grilling food like butabara, grilled chicken gizzard, liver, chicken skin, lahat masarap. Affordable and clean, well presentable place. Sarap ng yakiudon. It was the best...

Yes, another Yaku review!

Having lunch with my fiancé & future MIL as I type (naks live loo loo -ing!).

Things we are eating:
Enoki foilsomething P175: this is my fave, mushrooms cooked in foil (and butter)!
Beef zuteki P275: soft tenderloin and crispy vegetables
Tanindon P205: my mom in law liked this
Kakiage P129: they shared this, they liked it.
Saba shioyaki P245: Khalil finished everything..even the skin which he doesn't usually eat..

Update: Khalil said not to order the fish. He has fish breath.

Oh.. And I had iced tea.

I love this place.
