Call time for our Poblacion Food Crawl is set at 9am.  I didn't make it on time as i overslept the night before (drank a boatload of red)  and i had to teleport from Marikina to Makati.

I was in dire need of coffee.  Quickie stopover at Yamato Bakery for my caffeine fix.  I paired my cup of joe with the fresh fruit danish.

The danish is the prettiest pastry I've ever met.  Excellent color contrast and it's photogenic.  Apart from it's lovely looks,  it tastes good too.  Not to sweet and the pastry is soft with the right amount of flakiness.   The coffee is good too.   Iwas expecting it to be good as they use UCC coffee.

Yamato is always a good choice for carb cravings.

First Stop of our #poblacionfoodcrawl before THE LEGIT FIRST STOP lol

Jairus d and I needed to make this stop to fetch Reich T. I've been to Yomato Bluebay Walk before so I was quite familiar. I looked for the mini croissants right away - 5 maple and 5 matcha to go. Maple for my daughter, matcha for me!!!

Maple croissants were good - flaky with a good glaze of maple syrup.

Matcha was okay - needs more matcha but I liked the red bean paste inside.

They have good deals for their mini croissants:

- Maple Pack of 5 for 78Php
- Matcha Pack of 5 for 130Php

Ester and I were supposed to have our breakfast at IHOP when I noticed I left my IHOP GC in Laguna. Ka-stresssss128517
We decided to go to Yamato instead. We arrived a couple of minutes before their opening time.

Coming in early has perks specially when you visit a bakery shop. All the breads and pastries were freshly made!128525 We ordered Ham & Egg, Sausage Roll, Blueberry, Peach and Pineapple danish. Like always, everything was as awesome as I excepted. We also got two mugs of UCC coffee to enjoy our breakfast more.

Happy Saturday morning y'all!9728

Before going home, asked if we can drop by here first. Was hoping to buy the Matcha Croissant but no more matcha available huhu. 128557128557128557 According to the not so friendly na mga ate, hapon pa lang daw nauubos na agad yun. 128529

So instead, we just chose amongst the pastries on displayed. They offer 50% off starting 8pm everyday.

Chocolate Croissant
Ham & Egg
Pineapple Danish
Plain and Ube Croissant

Total was just 128pesos because of the promo. Hmm, the pastries were all just okay. 128530 Nothing extra special but for 50% off, uki na pang snacks.

This is just for the "blueberry cheesecake" that i bought. It was on a 20% off but it was not a cheesecake at all. The white part was more or less like a whipped cream, chiffon cake at the bottom and not so good blueberry at top.

Delicious baked goods at half the price when the clock hits 8pm. Unfortunately I don't pass by Jupiter a lot, but upon discovering many other establishments there I will be checking the ramen next to this. The mini chocolate croissants were delightful!

Before heading home last Saturday, Lea A suggested we drop by at Yamato to take advantage of the 50% off on their pastry and breads. I believe they usually do this at night and we arrived at 8pm that time. Discount and food sounds like a plan and so I willingly obliged.128588

I bought blueberry danish, pizza flavored bread and ham and egg. I was already contented with my purchase until I saw a dozen of maple croissants at the counter. It was also on sale at 9 pesos/piece! I couldn't say no so I bought five.128513

Everything was still great except for the maple croissants. The flakiness disappeared and was replaced by chewiness. Waaaay different from my previous experience.

Lesson learned!

Last month, I drove my aunt and cousins to the airport and decided to drop by at my bread haven for a 30-minute breakfast. I've visited this bakery countless times and it never failed me. Also, my recent trip to Japan made me understand that Yamato is at par with the land of the rising sun's bread goodies. So I know my relatives will loved it too.128526

For this visit, I had their blueberry danish and ham & egg. The rest of the group tried choco danish, burger roll, sausage roll and pineapple danish. Everything was perfect! 128076🏼

Each of the bread's name justifies the taste with a common quality of being a bit airy, flaky and tender. A mug of their coffee sealed our awesome breakfast that day. My aunt and cousins approved! 128588

Sad that they didn't have my favorite maple croissants during our half-hour stay.128546

Before leaving, I bought ham and egg and ham and cheese croissants for take out. I figured it will put a smile on Ester's face if I hand over a bag of Japanese breads.9786

I also wanted to try somehing new and bought almond cookies . It was made thin, crunchy with the right sweetness and they didn't scrimp on almonds! Soo good!127850

Did you know that the word Yamato refers to ancient Japan? A very fitting name to the top notch quality of breads I hope to devour for the rest of my foodie life.128076🏼127886128076🏼

One of the best strawberry shortcake that I've tasted. The strawberries are sweet and the cream/icing on the cake is also good.

For the matcha lovers!!! They have matcha croissant. It was delicious and we were able to get it for only 14pesos each! Wow it was great deal. Also must try is the Nori Sushi bread. Tasted great!

Just right next to my fav tsukemen place, yamato bakery gives high quality pastries. So far besides wildflour, they have the best cronuts and their muffins are really good.

They give 50% off on all pastries 1 hour before their closing time so before heading to ludo last night i went straight here and i make sure to snap a shot before munching on them.

when im cravingf for some chocolate cake, Yamato is always on top of my mind. Their chocolate ganache is one of the best that I've tasted -- soft, moist, chocolatey but not too sweet with melt in your mouth choco shavings. They used to sell slices of this but has now come up with small round version that's good to share.

Had to buy something at Yamato so we can park and try Lazy Bastard. #sneakymoves

I bought 6 pieces of maple croissant to ease the salty taste from Charlies'. My experience was better from the last visit. Probably because I got to try the croissant right after it was out from the oven. Skip the purple yam croissant.

Finally had a chance to dropby at Yamato Bakery in Makati. Tried their Almond Croissant but was a bit dissapointed, I personally liked The Breadery's more than Yamato's.
But their Cruffin and Fruit Danish is to die for (a bit exaggerating I know! :p)
Bought Hokkaido Milk Bread for our breakfast tomorrow, hoping not to be disappointed:)

After eating at Mitsuyado Sei-men, we saw a door connecting this ramen bar to the bakery beside it, so we decided to check it out.

Seeing that its our first time here, we asked the saleslady for the bestseller and she referred the Koiugn Amann (pronounced as Queen Aman) which is like a croissant with a cream filling inside.

We actually got lucky and was able to grab hold of the last piece since it sells like hotcakes! We didn't regret it a single bit. It's sooooooo good and is a definite must try on your first purchase!
