May partner and I wanted Chinese and the area doesn't not have much on that to offer. It was either this or Chowking for dinner. So, obviously, we went with this one.

We couldn't decide on what to get other than Hakaw and Pancit so we decided to try their group value meal C which is comprised of Yang Chow fried rice, Buttered Chicken, Spring rolls, Pancit, and iced tea. And an order of the Hakaw.

Service was good but forgettable. A notch above Chowking for sure. Didn't take too long for them to get all our orders on the table. Serving was pretty generous for the rice, was enough for everything else.

The Yang Chow fried rice, well, was really fried. Like swimming in oil fried. Was only able to take a few spoonfuls before I decided that I had enough.

The Pancit is pretty good. Had good chunks of meat and veggies and wasn't over seasoned or sauced. Not too greasy so definitely edible.

Hakaw was passable. Shrimp was good but the entire dumpling was a bit over cooked. For the price it is decent but don't expect too much.

Spring rolls looked sad but was also good since it had chunks of char siu pork in it. The jelly looking sweet and sour sauce complemented it well.

The buttered chicken was horrendous. Do not order this unless you ask them to separate the "butter" from the chicken. The "butter" is actually cheap melted margarine and used to sauté with leeks. Once you taste the sauce it's pretty damn gross.

So 2/5, hence my score. Reason why I didn't give them a 1 is because of the price. For 600 pesos this spread can sure feed a family. It isn't the best but at least it's a notch higher than Chowking. I would recommend you find something else if you have high Chinese food expectations otherwise, if you're in the area and have properly aligned your expectations, this will do.

When in doubt, go chinese. 10084

We ate at one of our favorite Chinese Restaurants last Father’s Day. We had the usuals: Hototai, Yang Chow Rice, Golden Fried Chicken, Lumpiang Shanghai and yes….. My one and only Crispy Fried Noodles with mixed meat. I’ve been craving for it a few days ago and I’m so happy I was able to have it. Hihi

They used to serve great food. Now there's a big decline starting from their food to the service that they render to the customers. We were loyal customers and we always go here before. The last time we ate will definitely be the last,

Well, I had a pretty rotten day at work so I decided to blow off steam by ranting to my family over dinner.

Because we're fans of Chinese cuisine, we decided to try out this place. It seemed that business is slow in this resto because there was only a single table occupied when we arrived and there was only a single waiter taking orders and clearing the tables. But the place had a nice atmosphere. I also liked their sounds, mostly bossa nova and acoustic songs , so the place was kinda relaxing.

Anyway, we ordered the family bundle. It had a large yang chow fried rice, hong kong style fried chicken, beef with broccoli and nido soup. Because we thought the portions were too small (good for only 3 people according to the waitress), we decided to order another serving of large yang chow and added a dimsum platter and salt and pepper squid.

The food was to die for! Nido soup was served first. One bowl was able to fill six cups up to the brim. So my guess is that it can feed two more and the serving would still be reasonable. The yang chow was delicious and it had big whole shrimp pieces instead of the tiny bits. The salt and pepper squid was tasty even without the sauce but it was even more yummy when you dip it. The restaurant did not hold back on the serving size as each piece was big and was not cheated by making the batter thick. The fried chicken was yummy, but I kinda thought that it was a bit dry so I had to make the most of the gravy which is also yummy, by the way. The beef with broccoli serving was small, I don't know why. But it was delicious, nonetheless. The beef was so soft and the mushrooms cooked to perfection. I didn't eat the broccoli as I'm not really a fan of veggies. 128523 The dimsum platter had siu mai and dumplings, both steamed and fried. They were arranged around the center piece which was chicken feet. The dimsum was nice, eapecially the fried ones.

But the best part was when I got the bill. I was kinda expecting to pay 2-3k since we ordered a lot of food. But, boy, was I wrong. I only paid 1414 for a superb and hearty dinner (which also included two bottomless iced teas and a mango shake). I was so happy, and so were my parents. The meal was great and it wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be. 128523128522
