Last Sunday, was a crafty day. I was with Cel C Almost the whole say. After our mini craft shopping in Greenbelt, we went straight to Yardstick to fuel ourselves with caffeine while we do our journaling.

I had an espresso drink, White (P160) for 8 oz. its actually a flat white. Bitter taste with hint of creaminess. I just love it! I just have one complain, it easily gets cold. Well its because of the milk i guess..

The spacious location of this coffee shop is perfect for hanging out. Their long tables are just perfect! We can do our thing in here. Plus points!

Spent the afternoon at Yardstick doing crafts. I like to do some crafty stuff here on a Sunday, less people and big table at the back is always available. Their coffee is kinda expensive but it's worth it coz it's really good. Nice bitter taste. I got White in large size (P180 + 10 service charge). I first got the medium size but was disappointed of how small the cup is. So on my second cup, I got the large one. It can get really expensive spending hours here. 128517

It's been a while since my last Yardstick visit so when I dropped by, glad only a few has changed except their diverse menu. They now serve steak and egg. I am surprised!! But all else stays the same, except the neighbor Your Local is louder nowadays.

So what I had is their Vanilla Flat White which is God sent when you want flat white but wanted to minimize the strong coffee flavor but wishes to maintain the same smooth texture with a hint of some sweet vanilla. This is your flat white version then. Haha. The Barista's breakfast will make you full. Except that it's a little greasy cause you have this sautéed mushroom which is salty by nature, crispy bacon, two sunny side up eggs. Sour and cream cheese is divine that comes with toasted bread. I almost didn't finish this one but it's worth a try. I just hope it's less greasy next time.

Wifi is okay. They have one but didn't get to really maximize it though. Staffs are very helpful and attentive. Besides the noise at Your Local, it's a good place for an evening chill or for ab early morning grab.

Salted Caramel Waffle128536128536. For 220php it is already good for 2 persons. I am more into pancakes than waffle but this one is an exemption. Quaint place to chill, study and relax❣️

Steak and coffee anyone? After trying out that combination over at Exchange Alley in Alabang, i knew i'd be doing the same at Yardstick when I saw their beef dish aptly called 'But First, Beef!'

Its inspired by Guatemalan Hilachas: Onglet (French name for a cut known as the hanger steak), Grilled Cabbage, Potato Crisps, Hilachas Sauce, Tomato Rice. The beef is a little chewier (but still tender) and more gamey tasting but that doesnt take away from how good this is overall. The gamey taste went hand in hand with the seasoning and the Hilachas sauce, i found myself wiping the plate clean.

Paired this with a Vanilla Flat White - Espresso, Madagascar Vanilla, Fluffy milk. Another winning cup from Yardstick!

I had real high expectations for Yardstick, at least when it comes to their coffee. After all, they hold coffee courses. Then I took one sip of their iced coffee and cringed in disappointment. It is highly acidic that I had a hard time trying to finish it. Actually, I didn't finish it. I couldn't, it's too damn sour that I wondered if I was drinking coffee or vinegar. I know there are people who like acidic coffee; not me. They probably over roasted the beans, whatever it is, I was not pleased with it. My friend had her coffee black and hot, and it tasted the same.

Good thing their salted egg pasta is a winner. I would even go as far as say that this is the best version that I've ever had, even better than Gino's Brick Oven.

It looks more like a classroom than a cafe and I think they made it so because of the courses/workshop that they offer. Most of their patrons are yuppies working in Makati.

I will come back, but only for their salted egg pasta.

Going to a place that has 184 reviews here at looloo (and a constant 4-star rating as of this writing) only shows how excited
we were to try out the food and of course, the coffee here. It's no wonder that those eager customers who posted their photos and reviews are excited.

Don't expect Starbucks-like service and ambiance but a few baristas do give a warm greeting as you come in. This isn't my first visit here at Yardstick. I am still excited though we were actually dismayed during our first visit as the prices displayed on the menu board doesn't include the 6% service charge. It might not matter for some but for most of us, the "sakto" generation, this is a major issue. Oh, and they do not accept credit (or debit) cards here if you might ask. By the way, the prices indicated in this review also excludes the service charge.

You'll know there have been a lot of thought preparing the sriracha chicken wrap (1st photo) that was referred to us by the barista. We were simply awed as it was served. It's actually roast chicken that was cubed and served with shredded lettuce with a special oriental sauce. It's quite spicy but the spice just gives justice to the wrap. At P290, this wrap can be shared.

The salted caramel vanilla waffle (2nd photo) is also really good. The waffle was not really soft as I expected but it was chewy and the caramel glaze was just right - not too sweet even with the double scoop vanilla ice cream. This waffle may be a little pricey at P220 but when you see, and taste it, it will be all worth your hard-earned peso.

We tried Yardstick's hot mocha (3rd photo) and cold flat white (4th photo) and these were simply great. I've been to quite a lot of artisan coffee shops and Yardstick's straightforward interiors always had me wowed with its simplicity.

Yardstick offers coffee brewing and latte art lessons here among others. Perhaps this is the reason why the coffee machines and other coffee brewing paraphernalia are arranged the way they are, giving full access to customers as your coffee is prepared, the ideal barista way. This made us appreciate our coffee more.

The last time I went here with my friends I tried one of their newest drinks, Vanilla Flat White.

I was quite intrigued if what will be the outcome if my favorite coffee drink will have a twist of vanilla. My verdict? Hmmmm it was sweet. Too sweet that it overpowered the vanilla taste. Buuuuut good thing Cindy S ordered the iced version. And man, I'm telling you the iced one was waaaaaay better. I'm thinking that the ice balanced out the sweetness of the drink. The kick of the caffeine was there. At first sip it would be bitter then the taste will slowly become mild, sweet, and milky.

Yardstick has a nice, laid back vibe. It's spacious and bright. I love that they have outlets especially if your phone is out of battery.

Aaaand one thing I love at Yardstick is that you can watch the barista while preparing your drink. You may even take pictures. Like I did. They're approachable!

P.S. There's a huge door connecting Yardstick and Your Local.

After having an amazing lunch at Your Local, I guess it's just natural to head to Yardstick for a cuppa (or two, wink wink!) My friends and I did exactly just that a few weeks back.

Though it's just my second visit, I have always loved their coffee! People here really know their thing. We had Iced Vanilla and Flat White. It didn't disappoint. Just what you'd need after having a hearty lunch. And the price is quite reasonable! The baristas are friendly and very willing to accomodate your coffee questions (and coffee pics!).

The place is bright and airy, it's perfect for a weekend chill spot. They've got some new items on the menu. Will make sure to try 'em on the next visit! 10084

Yardstick Coffee is one of the third wave coffee shops near my office. And I go here to sit, browse my photos and observe people. Yeah, I observe people. Introverts, raise your hands up! 128514

The store is very spacious, with a minimalist design. It works as it doesn't stress you out with a lot of things to see. The lighting is good for photo taking so get those Instagram pictures taken.

Hmmmm, baristas. Are just okay.. Not as friendly as your neighborhood SB barista but I think presentable. 9996🏻

I just had a white coffee which taste alright and bitter? Haha. So I need to ask for some sugar just to get my perfect sweet coffee. But the serving for me is not at par with the price. I have no idea why but probably because of the coffee beans or the rent perhaps. And again, the artsy stuff expected on this kind of coffee shop is lacking. Refer to photo number 1 (May citation! 128514)

If you want to just have a quick coffee, and read a book. This place is for you. And ow, am I the only one that feels like, "No other laptop brands are allowed except a Mac." 9996🏻

Power breakfast!

Was supposed to try out their new vanilla flat white but we were informed that their milk supplier has not yet arrived for the day hence, all drinks with milk were not available. Got the day's daily brew and Bartender's Breakfast for him, and an iced black and Salmon & Eggs on toast for me. The salmon was fresh and the eggs were poached perfectly with just the right amount of seasoning. The cherry tomatoes and cucumbers all helped tie up to balance the meal. The iced black was slightly acidic, with tasting notes of caramel and peach.

It was my first time to try their food as I usually only come here for coffee on the go and overall, I had a more than pleasant experience. I will definitely be back to try their pasta, waffles and of course, the vanilla flat white.

So after party, it was still too early to call it at night and our feet couldn't just go home. Since most of us are game, we went for kokols here.

This is my first night experience at yardstick. Compared to my morning experience, your company here will be working people age group-- the classier ones. People who still got clients, who found refuge during their nightshift breaks; there were millennials too. The vibe is dry and woody.

If you don't like the taste of coffee in the evening, your option would be tea or chocolate. I opted their over ice chai tea. This would be an opportunity to compare it to CBTL.

They got better presentation of course. All those dark tea parts settling at the bottom, and pure milk on top. I hate overwhelming ice, so i opted for light ice (it could make your chai diluted too)

The taste is milky, as compared to my cbtl sweet and watery experience, i like this more. Not the best though, still im reserving my first place to wheres marcel. I have yet to try a full glass of iced chai from the latter.

Power outlets check. Going to the CR would be a little inconvenient since you'll have to go out of yardstick premise. Go get a pastry to go with this, but thanks to Abe's kuchinta from Baguio we need not to.
