We ordered salad roll, hakaw, wanton mami, asado and lechon kawali all for Php 405.00. And they are all delicious! This hidden resto within Binondo will surprise you. Surely it's a hit and famous in town, the fact that their 3-storey restaurant is full at lunch with a continuos queuing outside. This one will give value to your money.

I deducted the one star because I think some renovation and uplift in their place will make them perfect. :)

So today i heading china town for my brunch, crave for dimsum so it's time to head for my usual place , Ying Ying Tea House,

This place gave me the best dimsum in town & really authentic flavor,

So ordered,

1. Prawn dumpling a.k.a Harkaw
2. Shrimp rice roll a.k.a cheong fan
3. Rice dumpling a.k.a ma chang
4. White radish cake
5. Fried Oyster
6. Friend soft bee hoon a.k.a mi shua
7. Coffee & Milk Tea (mixed) a.k.a ying yang coffee
8. Soya bean milk

As usual, taste really good and i love the flavor, authenticity and everything come into my kind of perfection hahaha (thats why i always come back this place)

Price affordable and reasonable too. And free flow house chinese tea

So go try, you wont regret!

P.S. Don't mind with the ambience (kinda dirty and busy and cramped) but that's a tea house looks like at Origin place at China hahahaha... But when you eat the food you will forget about this part hahaha

I have heard a lot of raves about this old and authentic Chinese restaurant in Binondo. Since it's tucked somewhere far from the usual busy places I go to, I never got a chance to try them, only Wai Ying which if i'm not mistaken is owned by a sibling or some family member. Ying ying is the original then came Wai Ying.

Place was super full and cleanliness/ambiance was local Chinese restaurant levels. Don't expect anything on these. We were seated upstairs, hot and poor ventilation..

Food was all okay for me. Good for the cheap price, actually. I'd recommend you trying the fried rice, taro balls (the highlight for my visit), siomai (fatty though), lechon kawali, hakaw (thick wrapper but tasty), radish cake, and the nai cha!!! Naicha was noteworthy, served in this beer mug and was really big and cheap. They also have this fried salad dish and was good and unique!

Compared to Wai Ying, this resto has way more choices in their menu! 128077🏻

I'd score them 3.5 stars. Cleanliness and service has to be improved especially at the second floor.

Btw, ask for discount if you use cash! Around 10% of the total bill was reduced! 128077🏻

My ultimate favorite place to eat in Binondo. 128525 It's so good. 10084

We had random late night dinner in Binondo. Good this they close at 2am. (1:30 am last call) 127769

10024Yang Chow Fried Rice- My friend doesn't eat rice but she had several scoops of this. 128513

10024Salt and Pepper Squid- They serve the best salt and pepper squid in Manila. 128524 I order this all the time. 128525 It's not on the menu anymore but you can still order this.

10024 Hakao- I love their hakao in there. It's big and I love their chili. 128556

10024Beancurd Roll - I love this also.

10024Milk Tea- It's my first time to order this and it's good too. 50 pesos for a huge beer glass. 128525 That's why I had trouble sleeping. 128514

10024Black Gulaman- I took a sip of my friend's drink. It's just okay. We weren't crazy about it unlike Eat Fresh's black and white gulaman. 128514 (Which is so good!)

I recommend this place to everyone. The food was excellent and the best part? We only paid 700 for everything!! 128513128522

My boyfriend and I decided to go at Maginhawa Street, unfortunately we weren't able to make it because we're running out of time. Then we decided to go at Binondo instead. We found this place 1st after walking along Binondo street. At first we're hesitant to make our order because we're not familiar with their specialty. I asked my bf to decide what to order for us, he ordered Shrimp & Pork Noodles. I thought the quantity is just small so I added pineapple bread, silver roll and cold milk tea 128516128513. The prices are affordable compared to others. We will definitely be back here again & try their other menus.

Everything was delicious!! but what I loved the most is their hakaw. Just be careful with their chili sauce its really spicy like as in super spicy you need to drink lots of water after. Lol. Food and serving is 1108811088110881108811088️ the not so good things that I observe was 1. Lack of coordination between the servers 2. No waiting area. We went their lunch time and there's really a bunch of people outside and no one is even available to tell us about who's next in line etc 3. Some servers were busy doing nothing. But all in all the food is great, will go back for sure but during non-peak hours.128513

If it's just a lunch/dinner for two, go to Wai Ying. But if you're treating a lot of people to lunch, then Ying Ying is the answer! They're servings are not just big, but are very very delicious too. Our favorite here is their Kiampong and Salt and Pepper Squid

Binondo houses a collection of restaurants serving delicious chinese and filipino food. Not sure if it's just me but there's really something different, in a special and good way 128521, with the food in this food covey of Manila. From time to time, I would have an eyeteeth for Binondo food trip and would always end up driving to Dong Bei, Delicious, New Po Heng and Quick Snack but my top pick will always be Ying Ying Tea House because of their Yang Chow Fried Rice. Makanin po talaga ako. 128512

Ying Ying Tea House is not really situated close to other restaurants in the restaurant cluster of Binondo. The place is a bit old school as expected. The place has an extensive menu of filipino and chinese dishes.

LECHON KAWALI
My number one choice. They have 1/4, 1/2 and a kilo available. The former is actually good for 2-3 persons but I can manage to finish all. It's not a healthy option but I don't mind when it's this good. Their lechon kawali is close to chicharon as the crispy pork skin snaps with every bite.

YANG CHOW RICE
Lechon Kawali will not be complete without a delicious yang chow fried rice. I can tell that they make fried rice using woks. It's fragrant and has the smoky burnt flavor that I always look for in a yang chow rice. Also, there are no clumps of rice which means it is not cooked in a flat pan. The ingrediys are also evenly distributed did not see any tutong. This is the only place too that reminds of a michelin star restaurnt in HK, Ah Yat Harbour View, they have very similar Yang Chow Rice.

LEMON CHICKEN
This is the first time I tried their Lemon Chicken. It was delicious and sweet but also has a bit of sour taste from the lemon. The chicken was not cooked well though and was a bit soggy. It took quite a while before my lemon chicken got served so I am not sure if it was just sitting on the kitchen counter. The place is always full everytime I visit so it's always frantic here.

MILK TEA
I always order their milk tea. For PHP55 you get a beer mug of milk tea. Sulit and it's really good!

XLB
Another first here. Their XLB was kinda weird. It did look like 3 huge siomai and it did not have any broth inside. I had to ask if I got the correct order. Unfortunately, they did not make a mistake. So skip XLB. If you really want dumplings, just get their Ha Kao instead.

One thing that you should expect when dining here is that service can be very slow. Although they serve good food, I always get frustrated waiting and doing follow ups before I enjoy eating. Especially when you get seated upstairs, it's so hard to call someone for help. I remember going up and down the stairs twice in my previous visit so I suggest get settled downstairs.

Ying Ying was the third stop in our Binondo Food Crawl. Upon walking in, it became clear that Ying Ying's had started on its quest for world domination. The placed was packed! The service was a little slow but the owner was nice enough to keep checking up on our orders. It was completely understandable because the restaurant was busy and I noticed that there were a lot of take out orders.

As for the food, I thought it was filling. Our friend Dennis, a Chinatown expert, ordered some dumplings, and one of the best-sellers, braised frog legs. Admittedly, I was a bit hesitant to eat something new and unfamiliar like frog legs but it smelled really good so I just went for it. And boy, they were much better than I ever imagined. It didn't taste funky at all. Each bite was flavorful and tender and the meat kinda taste like chicken meat. I probably wouldn't crave for it but still, I am glad I gave it a try.

The Chiu Show dumplings were pretty good too. They are handmade here and it goes perfectly with the sugar cane juice. I also enjoyed the Ham Suy Kok. I think it's one the more underrated dim sums because some people find it too sweet but Ying Ying's version had that perfect balance between sweet and savory that can appeal to your every mood. I also appreciate that it's not too oily. Even though they were fried, they manage to have that perfect airy, "just-fried-and-never-refried" texture.

Overall, the dishes were good for the price. Tons of food for your money! The very simple menu means everything is well made. Highly recommended!

Cheers
Mickey

Would you believe that we ordered all of these just for 2 people?128517 We just couldn't help it, everything in Ying Ying's menu looked good (and cheap, too)!

We got Hot and Sour Soup, Fried dumplings, Prawn salad roll, Beef hofan, and Spareribs with Taosi. Plus, my boyfriend ordered a cup of rice to go with it.128529 #takawtingindinamankayaubusin I think we ordered food good for four people.128514

The Hot and Sour Soup was perfect. It was really spicy and flavorful, plus the consistency is the same as the other more expensive restaurants.

The fried dumplings were just okay, it was a bit oily for me. But that's just me, I always prefer my dumplings steamed than fried.

The Prawn Salad Roll is an acquired taste. I've tried these at other restaurants before, but I'm not sure if everyone will like it. Just imagine mayonnaise with fruits from canned fruit cocktail and prawn inside a breaded wrapper. Sounds weird, but I like it!

Their Beef Hofan was quite good, but the noodles can be quite oily and not as flavorful as other Chinese restaurant's. The beef was tender and juicy.

The Pork Spareribs was great, still really flavorful and soft. Better when paired with rice, but I was too full to even think about it.128514

The servers were still attentive even if there were a lot of diners. The place could need some renovating though.

If you're looking for Chinese comfort food, Ying Ying would be a good option. They have an extensive menu, and the food is good and affordable too!

No one notices when you enter and when you go out. You have to approach the staff to ask for the menu or what so ever for few times before you caught their attention. It's like you need to beg them to take your order or requesting for something. And when your food comes in, it is placed in a very dirty plate or bowl. I used to think maybe they are just busy today because it's Friday or Saturday or Sunday. But I don't think so. Been here during week days and not so critical hours but I haven't seen any difference at all. But - their food is really good especially the soy chicken and lemon chicken 128522
