Came in here because it was right across from where I was staying, a place called the yellow house if I remember correctly. This place sells more than just yogurt it's a full fledged restaurant. For me since I was just curious I ordered the yogurt since obviously because of the name of the place I assumed is their specialty. Now, I am not a fan of yogurt at all but I like trying new things when I am in unfamiliar places. Let me put it this way their yogurt did not change my stance of how I feel about yogurt. I can't say it wasn't good because I don't like yogurt to begin with. I atleast got to experience their very entertaining 2nd floor balcony where you can people watch until your hearts content.

The banana granola strawberry preserves yoghurt was not bad however the mango yoghurt lassie was awful. We had to ask the staff to add some honey to at least make it bearable to drink. I think the mango added was not yet ripe. Service was not that good as well.

SAGAD SA GANDA, SAGAD SA SAYA
A Sagada Trip Special

YOGHURT HOUSE
Had an instant escapade with my friend Princess at Sagada, Mountain Province. We were about 5 people but the other 3 backed out one by one. But we still pushed thru even without them.

After a 6-hr bus ride to Sagada, as first timers, we went straight to the nearest guest house we saw - The Sagada Guesthouse. The place was kinda old, cranky and small but we didn't care, all we want was to explore the wonders of this place. The room we got was worth 600 bucks per night, it has 2 single beds inside. And there's a common bathroom for every guest to use. Upon unpacking, we felt very hungry already. Thru the net, we saw the top restaurants to visit here. Number one is Yoghurt House. So to check resto number 1, we chose to have lunch here.

The restaurant is a few blocks away from where we were staying. We arrived there at around 1150am. The place was closed and there's a sign that they'll reopen at 12:05pm. The servers were having lunch I think. Since we really like to eat here, we waited for the resto to reopen. There were also some tourists along with us who were waiting for the place to open.

As the place opened, we ordered their bestsellers: Roasted Pork with Brown Suace, Vegetables and Mashed Potatoes, Chicken Cashew Favorite, Roasted Eggplant in Basil Pasta, Strawberry Lassie, Mountain Special Hot Chocolate, and Sagada Honey Yoghurt.

ROASTED PORK WITH BROWN SAUCE, VEGETABLES & MASHED POTATOES, P240: served with 2 slabs of roast pork, generous serving of mashed potato and a veggie salad. For pork lovers, you'll definitely love this. No need for rice as the mashed potatoes are already very heavy. The brown sauce complements the pork. The sauce was somehow sweet. Sulit!

CHICKEN CASHEW FAVORITE, P230: for chicken fans, this will definitely blow you away. The dish was full of chicken slices, cashews and bell peppers on top of Sagada rice. Best squeezed with calamansi. It was sweet and sour in taste, the bell peppers kicked off with a strong taste but it also created that burst of flavors in your tastebuds. Good for people on diet. Though again, the serving was really big.

ROASTED EGGPLANT IN BASIL PASTA, P190: based on the reviews, this was always the top choice. So Princess had this for herself, (uhm, I had the roasted pork and the chicken cashew was just there for our additional food lol 128055), and it really did not disappoint. For vegans, this is the perfect meal. Topped with grated cheese, the pasta was very tasty. I didn't know that eggplant, tomatoes and cheese could already make an incredibly delicious pasta! Two thumbs up!

STRAWBERRY LASSIE, P99: strawberry yoghurt shake. Both sweet and sour. Your usual dose of yoghurt shake but the texture of their shake was smoother. Perfect if the weather's hot, but sipping it in a cold place like Sagada definitely adds credit to the experience!

MOUNTAIN SPECIAL HOT CHOCOLATE, P110: simple. Not your Baguio batirol type.

SAGADA HONEY YOGHURT, P90: if I'm going back to Sagada, one of the reasons I will definitely go back here is because of this! I never enjoyed yoghurt that much! The sweetness of honey and the sourness of the yoghurt blend so well that it is such a joy to eat. Plus it comes in a big serving! That was I think good for two already! Super sarap! I remember the honey doesn't mix in the yoghurt, like it flows separately on top of the yoghurt so the taste of the honey and yoghurt were both rich and buong-buo. I was really elated. Where in Manila can I find this?! Is there any restaurant who offers these?

First stop and I'm definitely enjoying Sagada already. Next stop: Bomod-ok Falls! #50ksummergiveaway

Yogurt with Granola, Banana and Strawberry preserves - sour than the usual yogurt that can be found in the grocery, and I think that what makes it different among the others. It's so sour, but still taste so good..

Brownies ala mode with yoghurt on top. Yuuuuuum! I love their brownies. Not too sweet, not too bitter. Decadent. Soft. And it goes perfectly well with their yoghurt which has its own kick. Oh and it's only for 90php.

After that 12 hour bus ride from Manila to Sagada, we're all extra excited to try out Sagada's most loved restaurants. As we were checked-in at an inn located far from the town center, we needed to walk at least 30-40 minutes to reach the town proper. Just the right amount of walking to make us hungrier and wilder for the brunch that must be savored.

We arrived at Yoghurt House at around 11:30AM, right after its opening. The restaurant was situated right exactly at the middle of the town. From the outside, you'll see that there are 2 levels waiting to be filled with tourists and customers.

Upon entering the 1st level, it was already filled with people taking their brunches so we instantly went up to the 2nd level and luckily there were 2-3 available tables still. We stayed at the area near the stairs as to give more space to larger groups.

The Yoghurt House's interiors gave the usual local feel that I experienced from Rock Inn & Cafe & Cafe Bodega wherein the wooden resto framing along with the wooden furnitures give that vintage, traditional vibes that the province has. As the resto's decors were framed photos of Sagada's culture including the traditional look of women, hunting and ritual photos of the men, scenic views from the province, etc. Another nice part of the 2nd floor was the veranda with long cots and tables to be able to accommodate more guests in. It's nice to stay here to enjoy more scenic views and do some people watching while eating good food. Too bad there were already guests in that area so we weren't able to sit there.

The simple menus were handed to us by a Korean looking lady who looked really jolly and eager in entertaining us as she was very engaging in letting us know which to order best. And yes, as we're so so hungry from all the traveling, we ordered the following:

1. Baked Chicken with Potato Rosti & Vegetable Salad (P200)
2. Pork in Bechamel Sauce, Garden Salad, Rice (P220)
3. Pasta ala Bechamel with Smoked Ham (P180)
4. Mashed Potato (P40)
5. Yoghurt with Bananas, Granola & Strawberry Preserves (P100)
6. Yoghurt with Honey Syrup (P100)

I was able to taste everything listed on top as we had them for sharing.

The first on the list was my order. The chicken was really big. It's a combination of the thigh and leg parts so it was overwhelming at first. The chicken tasted a bit bland though so I opted to mix in some catsup with hot sauce to make it livelier in taste. Hands down though to the perfectly juicy baked taste that it has inside. Underneath it was the bedding of crispy fried potatoes that looked liked flattened hash browns. The crunchiness of its side were so so good that even without rice I felt so fulfilled. The vegetable salad had really crunchy lettuce, cucumber and carrots with the sweet and sour taste of the vinaigrette that made it a good appetizer.

The second order was my friend Dane's order. Their rice was really purplish, so girly in color, really sticky but soft and tasty. There's this heavy filling feeling that it offers. The pork was not cooked so well, a bit overdone so it was hard to chew and the bechamel sauce didn't really had that powerful taste in it probably because the gravy overpowered it. Good thing the salad on the side made the pork's downfall better.

The pasta was the order of Abbey, my best girl friend. It initially looked like the usual Carbonara in creamy sauce but after tasting it, there's this smoky smell and taste brought about by the ham that made it different from the Carbonara, giving it that Christmas feels. It was served with 2 slices of toasted bread on the side. Abbey ordered another a la carte mashed potato and we were surprised with how sumptuous the serving is given its price. It was so so creamy and milky, soft and tasty, with salty potato bits on it that made it really addicting! It was actually the best among all the orders I guess.

And of course we couldn't miss the yogurt in this place. Is it really worth trying after all the reviews and blogs I've read in the net? Well, I'd gladly say yes.

As I've been enjoying yogurt for quite some time now, I was really excited to get a taste of what they have to offer. Dane ordered the one with honey syrup and I ordered the best seller as I am such a fan of strawberries too! Imagine hitting two birds in one stone yes!

Upon my first taste, I said "Ah ang asim ng yogurt nila!" and that's the reason why they have various fruits and syrups to top on it, to give that powerful and tasteful flavor mixtures! The honey syrup paired with the plain yogurt balanced the sour and sweet taste altogether. As for my order, the ripeness of the bananas paired with the sweetness of the strawberries and the crunchiness and roughness of the granola made everything come together well, leaving that flavorful taste in my mouth after every bite. A bowl of yogurt can actually be shared by two people but if you really want to savor its taste as it may took you a while to go back to Sagada, then enjoy the bowl by yourself.

They also had Yoghurt Shakes and other pasties for dessert but we were really full already so we called it a good and happy brunch already.

We were so happy that we went a bit earlier than the usual lunchtime because when we're about to leave, a lot of people were already in waiting line so I suggest that if you visit this resto most especially when there are a lot of tourists in town, make reservations or come in early. They usually open at around brunch time.

It was a good first resto visit in Sagada. Yoghurt House really does have much more than yogurts. Their dishes are in big servings, with delicious tastes, that are affordably priced for you to experience.

It was an OK experience for me. The waitresses were kind of not attentive. They have some attitude problem.

Food was ok. I loved the beef cutlets and how they made their mashed potatoes. Beef was so tender easy to chew. The mashed potato was not to creamy and has that garlic taste. 128077🏽

Pasta: fried eggplant, tomato, basil. The basil overpowered all other flavors. I think they've put too much leaves on it.

Yoghurt: Banana, Granola, & Strawberry preserve. TOO SOUR. It isn't made for Filipino taste buds. I guess it lacks a bit of whipping the texture was awkward. But it tastes better if extra honey is added or mix it with a pinch of salt for every spoonful. I personally didn't enjoy it.

Beef cutlets with mashed potato and salad.
Satisfying. Loved that sourcream sauce for the salad it spiced things up. Mashed potato totally took this meal. Garlic flavor and milky.

Yum! Love this place! Maybe it's just the beauty and excitement of being in Sagada, but the yogurt is quite delicious.

This place was packed with hungry wolves (pun intended..128539) when we got inside!! Good thing we were still able to find a table. We tried their Java Chicken, Beef Stir-fry, Chicken Curry, and Yoghurt with choco chip cookies. The price was about 200-250 for the meals but the serving size was quite big. The taste though was just okay. I think they're playing it safe since a lot of foreigners frequent the place, so not too salty or too spicy, somewhat neutral I guess. We did love however the fresh salad on the side with yoghurt dressing. It was yummy on its own. The Yoghurt with choco chip cookies was good too. May go back here for the yoghurt treats instead of their meals. 128521

The place was not that impressive plus the food is just so-so. Service is below average. The staffs are not attentive making the experience in this eating place really not worthwhile. It was just unfortunate that it was located in an amazing place that's spellbinding so the food should have been more tasty.

Me and my friends had our lunch here after a long trek from the falls. We are so hungry so we ordered rice meals and lassi for our drinks. I had strawberry lassi and sweet chili java chicken which is on the photo. Foods in Sagada are quite pricey but most of it have large servings and good for 2 persons.
I noticed that almost all restos in Sagada uses brown rice instead of the plain white rice which is a better alternative.

Instead of just reading the reviews about the famous Yoghurt House in Sagada, we went inside & tried their fresh & homemade youghurt. It was more tasty & not runny compared to the commercial ones. It was nice paired with bananas & their granola. Next time, I'll try the one with strawberry preserves to add a little sweetness.
