Otanjoubi Omedetou, honey!! Lol.

Okay so after spending five wonderful days in El Nido, the bf's birthday celebration isn't over yet. I treated him to a yummy authentic Japanese dinner in.. *drumroll*... Yurakuen!

When it comes to Japanese food, I can't seem to find another restaurant that can surpass Yurakuen. There are other good restos around the Metro, maybe some serve equally sumptuous Japanese treats but I don't think they can beat Yurakuen's place in my heart. If I am not mistaken, this is my second time to post a review here.

Apart from the impending expiration of my membership in Diamond Hotel, I am a frequent diner of this restaurant. I did not think twice when I planned a post birthday dinner here for my love. The boyfriend is not a fan of Japanese cuisine but I assured him that he will enjoy it. So we drove all the way from Quezon City to Roxas Blvd to avail their teppanyaki all you can. Mind you, I came prepared. I did not eat lunch and merienda so I can have a big room for steaks! Haha!!

Yurakuen has two dining schedules for their teppanyaki buffet. One is at 5:30pm-7:30pm and the other one is from 7:30pm-9:30pm. Our original schedule was at 7:30 but we arrived early so I tried my luck if we could be seated right away. Fortunately, they were not jampacked with guests that night so they were able to accommodate us earlier than our schedule.

Guests can seat in one of the teppanyaki rooms or in the main dining area. Though I personally prefer the former because I like to see my food being cooked in front of me. We were ushered to our teppanyaki room by a smiling pretty lady and assigned with a young, perky private chef but I forgot their names (sorry).

I have read some negative comments about how slow their service was but I have not experienced it ever since I first came to their restaurant. In fact, we were seated immediately.

Unlike the regular buffets wherein you will go around the food stations and line up, here you will be given a menu where you can order all your heart's desire and have it cooked in front of you. Yurakuen's buffet boasts succulent steaks and fresh seafood. Being the matakaw that we are, we ordered the following:

3 orders of US sirloin steak
2 orders of US tenderloin steak
3 orders of grilled beef shabu shabu
1 order of dragon roll
2 orders of salmon sashimi
2 orders of crabsticks
3 orders of tiger prawn
2 orders of lamb chops
2 orders of salmon fillet
2 orders of chicken thigh
2 orders of scallops
2 orders of squid
And 1 bowl of seafood rice

We're not hungry, right? Lol. Anyway, this buffet comes with one unlimited choice of drink. It is priced at 2800/pax but since I am a member, we availed the 50% off the total bill discount.

Quite pricey but definitely worth it. They also gave us a free cake upon learning that we are celebrating a birthday. Kimono-clad ladies sang the birthday song! 128522

A must try for Japanese food lovers.

Last Valentine's, Mark O surprised me to this sumptuous dinner at Yuraken! I am very excited about trying it for the first time but it seems that the servers are not up to it. Service was slow and not at par with hotel standards. They weren't coordinated and we had to keep a close eye on the dishes that comes with the set.
Food was 50-50, half of them were ok, half weren't. I felt bad also as a customer when the chef (?) came out and was reprimanding one server out in the open, in front of customers. It was awkward.
But of course, i wouldn't let all of those ruin the night 9786️ we capped it off with champagne and red velvet cake and maybe a promise that we won't come back to eat here any time soon 128541

Hands down to this teppanyaki buffet! Melt in your mouth steaks and fresh seafood to be cooked right in front of you!

If you want to have a sumptuous Jap fix, then this is the right place for you. They serve ala carte dishes in the dining area with beautiful glass-encased walls and ceiling however I prefer the teppanyaki buffet more because #IAmMatakaw. 128514128514128514 Kidding aside, for only P2800, you can already have unlimited premium steaks, lamb chops, fresh seafood such as salmon, red snapper and even squid. If you have a big appetite and you're a fan of these, you know that it's quite a steal already. I personally love their US beef top sirloin, giant scallops, tiger prawns, salmon sashimi, seafood fried rice and the different rolls that they offer. And oh, did I mention that you can have a bottomless beverage of your choice too?

Again, this is a great place for reunions, date nights or if you just want to eat good food. Don't forget to try their desserts. Diamond Hotel has one of the best desserts in town. Go for their baked cheesecake, ube ensaymada, chocolate cake and ice creams. :)

Tip: Avail Diamond's membership card and you'll get discounts and freebies. I'm a member for 4yrs now and I must say na sulit na sulit samin yun. I think the card costs P7500, and you get a lot of vpuchers plus compli lunch/dinner for two. If anyone is interested, I can help you. Just contact me here.

For big eaters and those fond of an “all-you-can-eat” type of dining, make sure to reserve a seat at Yurakuen - Diamond Hotel.

Start off with greens. Choose from Garden, Chuka Wakame or Crab Stick. Choice of soup - Miso, Egg or Seaweed. Then there's unlimited portions of Sashimi and Sushi Platters.
(Sashimi: Tuna, salmon, cuttlefish, grouper, mackerel, red snapper and freshwater eel / Sushi: Grouper, Crab Stick, Tuna, Flying Fish Roe, Mackerel, Salmon, Shrimp, Egg, California, Dragon and Tempura Rolls)

Don't forget your rice! There's Mixed and Beef Rice. Followed by a mélange of seafood. From scallops and prawns, to squid and cuttlefish, as well as salmon plus veggies. I swear Yurakuen's scallops were absolutely fresh, juicy, soft and sweet! It was a revelation! For the meat, we had tenderloin and short ribs.

While I was blown away by how Yurakuen Japanese Restaurant’s meat was tender and flavorful, I was amazed by the chef’s teppanyaki skills. What a showstopper!

For dessert, I enjoyed their Black Sesame. It wasn’t too sweet and had a delightful texture which came from the sesame.

All-You-Can-Eat is availble lunch and dinner with one unlimited standard drink of your choice — choose from sodas, chilled juice, local beer or Kirin beer.

This is located in the lobby of the Diamond Hotel. In the times I have been here (without prior reservations), I was lucky enough to get tables even without any reservations as I would arrive early. I did notice that as soon as I arrived, the place would fill up very quickly so if you have plans of eating here, I suggest that you make reservations in advance. If you do not know the number, just call the hotel lobby for them to forward your call to the restaurant.

They have excellent service here. All members of the staff are very friendly and accommodating. I love dining here for the exquisite ambience and the excellent service of the staff. They are all efficient, friendly and super accommodating.

The food (like the Yurakuen Sets) take some time to be cooked, probably because each aet contains numerous food items. It's worth the wait though!

I would usually order the gentleman's or the lady's set, depending on my mood. The former has US prime beef teriyaki and salmon, the latter has steamed egg custard (my favorite), ebi fried and gindara teriyaki. I would usually order the gentleman's set and have additional orders (ala carte) for ebi tempura and steamed egg custard. Both sets are served with their respective miso soups, appetizers and desserts.

For the dessert, you have a choice between fresh fruits or ice cream. All their ice creams are delicious! The salted caramel, strawberry, chocolate and cheesecake flavors are soooo good. I asked them where they got their ice cream and they said it was their own recipe. It's the same ice cream also being served at Corniche (buffet in the lobby of Diamond Hotel).

I think this place serves authentic Japanese food and the ingredients are really fresh. However, the food here is so expensive. Each set ranges from Php1400-Php2000++! But I would still come back here as you are paying not only for the food, but the service and experience as well. I had a wonderful dining experience here and I can't wait to come back and experience it again.

Kidnapped. By a client who brought me here for a lunch meeting I was totally unprepared for.

I dare say this is the most beautiful Japanese restaurant I've been to in Metro Manila. We stayed at the function room on the second floor (well, more of like just a half floor up), but we passed the entrance to the main dining area along the way. From my vantage point, the main dining area looked bright and cheerful. There was a large fake tree inside which I assume is supposed to be a representation of a cherry blossom tree (I'm just guessing here). It looked like spring in full bloom inside that room. Our function room had a large square table that could seat 12 people. Servers passed through a side door so that patrons can enjoy some privacy even as the food was brought into the room. Oh, and the servers looked so pretty in their kimonos with obi. For the ambience alone, they deserve 5 stars.

As for the food, I didn't order them so I'll hazard a guess as to what I stuffed myself with earlier today. I had some fresh assorted sashimis -- salmon, squid, uni, amaebi (sweet shrimp), and my favorite hamachi. They were delicious. I also got to try some grilled fish, which I suspect was gindara. It was fatty and flavorful. Their tempura was also good - batter was light and crunchy. The fried rice was ok. I prefer plain rice. There were a lot of other dishes on the table which I unfortunately didn't get a chance to taste as I needed to rush to my next meeting in Makati. I'd love to come back though under more relaxed circumstances.i

Its the usual yakiniku grilling resto inside Diamond Hotel. The resto is eat-all-you-can. The food is just the usual, not that special and not that very fresh. But since we love grilled meat and seafood, it is still ok for us. -1 for the very slow service (meat and seafood refill). -1 again for a very limited choices. It is an eat-all-you-can of the same kind. We had 2 orders of squid, shrimp, salmon (no other fishes available), no pork and chicken available so there's a very plenty of beef.we also had soup, sushi and spicy tuna maki. We got the deal with 50% discount since my wife is a previous club member of the hotel. Still expensive even with the discount (1,000 each) but since it's my wife's birthday, nevermind the price. Lol

this place is so hidden! pwedeng pang secret dates with your other woman.

very nice interiors, but that's it. only the gindara with teriyaki sauce hella stood out- grilled perfectly (semi-burnt edges) and the sauce. THE. sauce. Delicious!

servings are quite small, prices very steep! easily, obviously, circles or spiral buffet over this! more worth your money.

This place has it all, great service, excellent quality and nice interiors. Officially my favorite Japanese restaurant, if only it wasn't so far away from my house.

The lady's set (w/fried rice) and their dragon maki are my favorites but i seriously haven't tried anything that wasn't good. 128077128077

Btw, it's at Diamond hotel so expect hotel prices.
