Haven't been back in awhile... This review is for their new dish, the Wagyu Steak. My past reviews have always been all praises until I ordered this 128070🏼 last night 128529128529128529 Big mistake!

After ordering my usual Chawanmushi and Chirashi, I spotted this new Wagyu Steak on the menu @480... I really had high hopes and was excited to give it a try, I tell the server I wanted it Rare and they said ok... My steak arrives medium well and was tough to bite 128545 Who the heck does that to Wagyu?! or maybe it wasn't Wagyu at all, who knows?! 128530🙄 It was so tough I couldn't tell, parang tapa Ang dating 128529 What a waste of money! Pfffft....

Note to self : Never order Wagyu here! I also noted that they increased their prices, not so affordable anymore. I think i'm better off eating at those buffet places w/c offer more choices for the same cost ☹️128542

Sorry no pix with the review... Will update one with photo128513
Anyway first... I think this is one of the most affordable descent jap food I the metro
Usual order is chirashi special (~600) it includes miso soup, that tastes good (not diluted or something), jap rice topped with the sweet egg and something am not sure but yummy, veg tempura, lani salad and sashimi. A very filling bento at an affordable price. Usual don't order drinks, the house tea is also good.
A must try if you are a jap food lover

This is a hidden Jap resto in Taft that I never imagined to be sufficiently spacious and fine-looking. They have a wide variety of meals from bento to sets and sushis and everything.

I ended up ordering just the Kani salad for myself and an Okonomiyaki to share with everybody. I loved the Kani salad. Since that day I had it, I've been craving for it and been meaning to visit this resto again just to take out an order of their kani salad. But the okonomiyaki was a disappointment. It was too sour and was overcooked maybe, didn't like it at all. Service wasn't too fast but the staff were responsive. I have yet to try their sushi next time, I bet they're good. Yes, I'm coming back.

I loved how this dainty place was really something! From the outside, you wouldn't even bother going in. But since my friends have been dying to bring us there, we finally gave it a try.

When I entered, it was your typical Japanese resto. What I liked was the tables and chairs upstairs. For the first time (which was amazing when I realized it) we got to sit the way normal Japanese people dine. The table was low and our chairs were pillows. It was really a unique Japanese feel!

The food, to my surprise, was cheap. And it was really good! I ordered Tonkatsu Rice, and it actually tasted like the expensive, unlimited rice and cabbage place. (Lol, I hate name dropping but you get my point)

My hubby ordered Oyaku Rice, and Uni Sashimi. (I haaaate Uni.) while my other friends, were busy eating raw food! Sushi was really really good :)

We love going back to this restaurant, especially when me and boyfie crave for sashimi.

Sashimi is fresh as always and affordable. It was our first time to try the fresh blue marlin. We also try the salmon maki for 80php(6 pcs).

CC lemon, is a lemon soda but a bit pricey for 130php per can (that 2 can made our bill go up to 1k). I think if opt not to order the Cc lemon, our bill will be around 800php only. Affordable right? All of those for 800 w/out the drink :)

We were super busog when we left the restaurant. 128518

No pretensions. Not pretending to be too classy or "nouveau." It is As it is, clean, courteous and quick!

Its the Chirashi set, P484. In other resto, just the sashimi is P484 :). The 5 kinds of sashimi was fresh not frozen and thawed... Excellent no fishy odor.

The salad was ok. But what i really like about the tempura was how it was prepared. When you eat tempura, theres always this last piece of shrimp property you have to bite off protected by the shell. They removed it so you really just have the tails when you're done.

The rice was sweet, but it was excellent as it balanced the saltiness of the tempura.

This place has to stay as it is for as long as possible... Where you enjoy the food as it should be, sans the expensive tablewares or the faux sophistication of the order taker :)

And ohh more importantly, no MSG! You hear that hirelings of Y@bu Hahahaha. Sorry i just had to sneak that in.
