Hoping for a quick bite with dad and my sister before watching a movie with the cousins. We were undecided and my sister suggested their default pre-movie restaurant - Zao.

We started with Fresh Rolls while waiting for our food. As usual, I requested for the vinegar dipping sauce. Not a fan of peanuty hoisin sauce that were served with it. this is a good and healthy appetizer.

My sister really likes the Banh Mi here but prefers it without the pate. Although she was asked at the time she ordered, it was still served. We just returned it. I had a tiny bite and all I could remember is the hard bread.

We liked the tender and flavorful Vietnamese Beef Stew. I was expecting something spicy but it wasn't.

I loved my generous serving of Zao Bowl with the cold noodles, vegetables, assorted grilled meat and spring rolls. Although we couldn't figure out which was which, everything was tasty and good. The sweetness and acidity of the sauce was just right.

Dad and my sister liked their Refillable Tamarind Iced Tea which I found a bit sour. I prefer my iced tea on the sweet side.

The servers were nowhere to be found a majority of the time. A bit weird considering we were the only ones there on a weeknight. We had to stand up and go to them if we needed anything. They seemed preoccupied as well.

The portions were huge. The three of us must have been famished to have wiped out everything. On a normal day, this much would be considered over ordering. Or maybe we just really liked how all of the dishes tasted thus a clean table. I'm sure we'll be back for their delicious food but I hope they improve on their service.

Ambience is a bit dim but overall, food tastes great. We had seafood pho, satay platter, vegetarian fresh spring rolls, catfish pot, and water spinach with tofu. I love how their food are prepared savory but not salty. Price is good too compared to serving size.

It was my 2nd or 3rd time to try out zao, but this time rather than going with the usual pho, we ordered their main dishes and appetizer. Im a fan of fresh rolls ever since i tasted one of the best fresh rolls and as for this one ill give it a 3 or 4.

Seafood pho were ok. While i enjoy their deep fried catfish. Overall its a modern vietnamese resto that would satisfy any vietnamese dish cravings.

The best Vietnamese Crispy Spring Rolls for me! Generously served with bean sprouts and beautiful green lettuce 10084 We also got BBQ spareribs, Crispy fried catfish, Seafood fried rice (topped with my favorite salted egg!) and Lychee iced tea. Food here is really, really good! Never fails to leave us satisfied and extremely full. 128077

After travelling to Vietnam, I don't think there's a restaurant that has legit Viet!namese food. Haha. But Zao is a close one. The iced coffee tasted nothing like the one I had in the streets of Vietnam though. Their fried spring rolls are good. The pho tasted like something is missing but it was an ok dish. It 's alright. Not fully legit vietnam taste but it's getting there. I've yet to find a legit Vietnamese resto.

After 1 hour of searching for a parking space we ended up dining in this Zao Vietnamese Bistro. We love all that we ordered. "Sulit" is the best word to describe their menus although kinda pricey. But the ambiance and the place was superb and their staff, the best! If you are looking for a place closer to a fine dining experience that you will be able to satisfy your cravings, this the best place for you!

Ordered the crispy spring rolls and they tasted good. My parents liked the seafood pho. I had the barbecue spareribs plus rice and it's actually good for 3. The meat was soft and flavorful. Would come back here again.

We had early lunch at the house so this is like our merienda cena. Had the Zao bowl (295.00) w/c we initially thought was hot soupy pho noodles w/toppings of fried beef, chicken & pork rolls. But, it is cold & dry clear noodles w/ these toppings among some veggies - and you hadda slather it with their sweety fish sauce. The roundy roll is uberrrr salty!!!! While the other rolls are so-so like regular lumpia shanghai rolls. Had the fresh rolls (i think 290+ too) of 2 pcs cut into 3 pcs each, honestly bitin. Dont dare ask for TY soup cuz they'll offer beef broth at 75 bucks. whahahha (missin TY soup of North Park & Luk yuen) hehehehe!!!
Service was ok since there was us & another table only.
Zao is at the 2F mezzanine at the New Promenade.

After a morning of pampering, me and my boyfriend's mom decided to have a light lunch. We thought of trying the new restos in Promenade 2 since we haven't actually tried most of them.

We stumbled upon Zao, and actually enjoyed ourselves.

The place was very fancy. Chandeliers, wines, table napkins, the whole shebang. I actually thought it was in the wrong place. Having seen the place, a person would immediately think its one of those over priced, fancy fancy resto. But its not. The price of the food was on an average scale. It like same as those comfort food places i love.

I was very pleased with our servers, they were pleasant and attentive. Which is a total plus. Also, the Pho I ordered was subtle, not too overpowering. It was a complete and balanced flavor. The soup was very aromatic that I couldn't wait to get started. With all honesty, Im not a fan of asian cuisine aside from Chinese of course! But what I like about this place is it caters to many types of palettes. :)

Im glad we tried this place!
