So, this place really not bad for Vietnamese Food, Looks like an exclusive restaurant but the price and the portion are really worth it & not too expensive...

I ordered,
1. Fried Tofu with yellow gravy
2. Bahn mi (Vietnamese Sandwich , Chicken)
3. Vietnamese chicken wing
4. Pho (Vietnamese beef noodle)

I don't really like the tofu texture but if you eat it with the yellow gravy, that come with it, it's really kick your taste bud.

The Sandwich really good, no other words can deescribe the soft handmade bun and the chicken with pate, good combination.

The chicken wing, nothing special about it except the green mango salad that come with it.

The beef noodle, can beat pho hoa, their Zao Pho really authentic Vietnamese taste, (i know because i have friend who ran vietnamese food street & sell the pho & i tasted it and this Zao Pho really taste similar like that)

Overall?

Worth to try, will go back when i crave for vietnamese food.

So it was raining the whole day, time for some noodles with soup. Having just tried ramen yesterday i was torn between udon and pho. Pho got the best of me, so i went for zao along hight street.
I ordered for their zao pho, fresh rolls and tamarind ice tea.
Overall their vietnamese food are just okay. 9786

Bad, slooooow service. Ironically, waiter grabs the menu off of my hand as if he's in a hurry and he keeps looking around like he had better things to do.
Chicken in claypot was too sweet. Ordered pomelo salad but not available, asked for the stir fry veggie instead. They didn't tell us that the claypot and the veggies taste the same. So yeah, we basically had dessert for main course. Oh not to mention fresh rolls' skin were tough and the sauce was bland.

For someone who hasn't eaten the whole day, one would normally assume that anything would probably be delicious for that person, but the case is different this time. We ended up wishing we had chosen other restaus after. See, We had all that is on the pic and there was only 2 of us, so just imagine how hungry we were. 128516

Anyway, The satay from the appetizer sampler tasted nothing liked satay. It was like pork and chicken barbeque from a Filipino restaurant topped with some chopped nuts, honestly it would have tasted better with vinegar as a dipping sauce 128513. The crackers were yummy though, it was like the one's I had that popcorn vendors used to sell outside the church after mass 128523 Then all the fried viands we ordered were dripping with oil as you take a bite. The tilapia worth 900 for 500gms seemed old/frozen kind. The porkchop was like whatever, just fry it and top it off with chopped veggies and cilantro to make it exotic. The saigon rice had an after taste of margarine which may be good for those who love it.

We liked the zao pho but it wasn't exceptional but the beef was tender and the meatball was good but I have to say, I've had better pho's. I loved the fresh rolls though, it's dipping sauce came close to the one's we had in hcm city. I find it too often that restaus who serve the fresh rolls end up tasting like the thai version & with peanut sauce most of the time and I've always been eager to find one that served it with Zao's sauce.

The service was awesome by the way but there's really nothing here for me to come back for although the value for money is reasonable since everything is good for sharing.

Pho's not my thing, but vermicelli is. This bowl had it all: pork, egg rolls, fresh veggies. I loved it. Hit the spot. Would go back, repeatedly.

Zao is your not-another-pho type of resto and also has a good list of your vietnamese favourites. I may be a pho-and-springrolls diner but this one is good to try with their other dishes also, that is when you may happen to be in BGC or near Serendra area.

I cannot but help compare their food to the more authentic Vietnamese cuisine I experienced in Ha Noï. Simply put, Zao food is just too far from it.
I ordered their pomelo salad. I tasted the pomelo but I could not figure out what the dressing was. Simply said, I just could not taste it. I was saddened!
Next order I got was the Chicken Pho. Alright, this needs some careful studying. Zao' version of the revered Pho rated a high of three with ten as the tops. Why? First, the chicken was a bit tough ( it seemed like the chicken breast was boiled , then placed into a freezer. Then it got dried out and quickly soaked back prior to serving). The pho also had no unique or stand out taste from an ordinary chicken mami. I feel that there is something missing. ( like does it need some more fish sauce?)
The place was good. It's interiors were classy enough. But you can't eat class... I was indeed wondering. Did I pay for the food or am I just got scammed... Sorry!

I had to give one star for their service. But their food gets no star from me. I had their vegetarian pho, which was the blandest dish ever. It was so bland, that even black pepper and hoisin sauce couldn't even add any flavor to the broth.

I left a couple of hundred pesos poorer and I satisfied. I had to buy some sorbet just so I have some taste in my mouth, to remind me that I did eat something for lunch.

It was an expensive realization but I am never going back there ever.

I've never been fond of Vietnamese cuisine. The family decided to eat here since it was the least crowded place that time.

I had a hard time deciding what to get so when the waitstaff recommended several dishes, I agreed to order whatever she said.

We had the Crispy Seafood Rolls, BBQ Porkchop, Honey Glazed Chicken and Saigon Fried Rice.

Who knew Vietnamese cuisine takes so much effort? The rolls came with some veggies and lettuce wraps so we started double wrapping the thing and dipping them in the sauce. It's salty if eaten on its own. Then came the Honey Glazed Chicken Noodle Bowl with Rice Paper Wraps and Lettuce. You need to soak the rice paper in water, wait for it to soften then start making your own wrap from the noodle bowl. I couldn't get it right and my wrap ended up tasting bland.

The Pork chop was thinly cut and not so tender but it was flavored well and very tasty. The Saigon rice could feed our entire table! Serving was big. Very flavorful as well.

Service was wonderful, they were very attentive to our needs and they check on us once in a while how our food was.

I'll stick to pho next time.

For sharing, me and my 2 girl friends ordered the following:

Zao Pho - Good, but soup was not hot enough that we had to ask for it to be reheated!

Zao Bowl - Tasty BBQ meat but the dressing (vietnames vinegar) tasted bland. The fried spring rolls was just so-so, found it too oily. For me Pho Hoa's version is soo much better!

Saigon Fried Rice - Such a disappointment! So unflavorful 128548

Beef Brisket - Not a fan of beef in general, but this one's pretty good! Meat was cut into bite size and was made real tender, not bad!

My second time in Zao. Noodle soups in Zao are very healthy same as in Pho Hoa though on our second visit boyfriend and I was not satisfied with the soup because it's not that hot. We ordered seafood noodle soup and seafood clay pot which is so yummy and very tasty, it has lot of veggies and seafoods on top. and they also serving alcoholic beverage like beers. We also ordered as appetizer their kropek with black sesame seeds. Service is good with a very reasonable price. 128077
