I love my new job but one of the downsides of uprooting myself from my comfort zone is the fact that I now have limited food choices. 128532

Don't get me wrong, Angeles City, and Pampanga in general is a good food haven but since I'm used to having a wide array of choices, it's a bit of a downer.

One of the things I noticed here is the fact that korean restaurants are a dime a dozen. So common that they even have a Koreantown and no Chinatown! 128540

And since of course I usually crave for japanese food, this was a bit of a problem for me. One day, I noticed a japanese-korean fusion restaurant just near our office. I vowed to visit it and see if it can suffice my jap craving.

I expected too much too soon.

At first glance, I immediately noticed that the price range is a bit high but I didn't mind because my craving was much more intense than my kakuriputan. 128513128513 I ordered me a plate of Salmon salad and California Maki for lunch.

The Salmon Salad weirdly consisted of a mountain of iceberg lettuce and julienned carrots with few super thin slices of fresh salmon and drizzled with a sweet-tangy sauce usual in korean dishes. If not for the fresh and oh-so-good, melt-in-your-mouth goodness of the salmon which by the way left me wanting for more, I would've hated the plate. The california maki was also weird. Not even slightly similar to the usual california makis i've had. It tasted like kimbap with a different color. 128547

It's my fault though, the restaurant says they're fusion. My fault that I kinda expected a slight taste of japanese in there. I guess the chef is korean. 128523

Needless to say, I didn't go back. The salmon was really good as a standalone but even that won't make me go back.

So, on to the next food adventure --- Clark Freeport version. 128513
