I've been living in Cebu for more than 2 years now and one thing that I would never get tired from this awesome place is obviously their lechon! Though typically every Cebuano Lechon place here has a similar flavor profile, each of them still has a distinct quality setting each of them apart. 128568

My friends got hungry from overtime so we wanted just good old Sugbo lovin' in the form of this guilty pleasure! We were stuck in the island because of bloody traffic to Cebu City and all the other places that serve this whole roasted suckling pig is closed so we ended up in Zubuchon, Marina Mall. Fun fact, this is the only lechon place in the island that is 24 hours open! And they accept credit cards too, in case you were looking for that! (I don't really carry around cash, so this is a really good thing for me.) 128077🏼

Zubuchon's Lechon may not be the best, but theirs is not bad either. It was a good thing they still had lechon when we arrived around 9:00 PM because I tell you they sometimes run out. We had a plate that's good for 3-4. We were 5 people then so we just ordered a couple more items just so it won't be bitin. They served our lechon on a sizzling plate and it was just lovely! The skin was still crispy and the meat was very tender! 128571

We had their Dinuguan which I found was really really good! It was a perfect pair to their Five Pork Fried Rice and Cebuanos love enjoying this with their lechon, making the most out of the pig. The fried rice was delicious, even good enough without ulam! Lami kaayo! 128568

Their Sizzling Squid stuffed with Sisig was also great! The sisig itself was delicious and the squid was cooked perfectly, not at all rubbery!

For drinks, we shared a pitcher of their Lemon grass and Lime juice which was so refreshing! We were just 2 sharing the pitcher because our other colleagues had their Kamias Shake which I found really good too!

Will definitely come back because of convenience and accessibility! 128568

This was just one of the many places I tried while I was in Cebu. I've been cutting down on meat the past weeks but couldn't let this one pass just because... lechon #whenincebu.

Zubuchon is everywhere in Cebu - main road to the airport, malls, airport itself... Everywhere. And though I know this one's not really the top of the list, I still gave it a try. After all, it is still one of the tops next to Rico's and CNT. They're also the only lechon chain that offers lechon 24hrs and has a drive thru branch for bakasyonistas who wants to get it as pasalubong. (How cool is that? ;))

I liked the crunchiness of the skin. I love how it sounds bite after bite. I also love that it is perfect when paired with spicy vinegar, mapapadami ang kanin sa sarap! I still prefer the usual lechon I grew up with plus the Mang Tomas dip or lechon gravy that comes with it tho. Nonetheless, I still enjoyed the meal.

This meal was one of their "fast meals" and costs P180. It's a bit pricey compared to the other places we've tried but still worth it because it is geeewd.

Next time I go back, I'd probably try the Monggo with lechon 128513

Cebu is very much well known of their lechon...well i must say aside from they have another specialty...FRIED SKIN FISH...never heard of it??? Its ZUBUCHON must try menu list...usually its chicken skin or pork skin but this time Fish skin...The waiter told us to eat it while its hot because tye crispyness wears off easily...and i must say its a must try talaga...If you happen to be in south try it...its 180. Or less than 300. Only...ZUBUCHON also have a lot of franchise you can visit...yummm..yumm.

Lechon Lechon! When in Cebu, one must eat Lechon! But CNT was quite far from Mactan and it was traffic going to the city so we decided to eat at Zubuchon instead. I still prefer CNT as it tastes "more traditional" and "more Pinoy". Here, you could taste the herbs used such as rosemary, thyme etc.
i only managed to take a pic of the lechon and lechon belly. Their kamias shake was perfect for the hot weather and to balance the fatty taste of lechon! 128077🏻

No hype. It's amazing! Happy that there was a zubuchon in mactan island so we headed over there for dinner on our first night.
They had boneless belly but the waiter recommended the original lechon so we got 1/4 kilo of that, five pork rice with green mango and adobong kangkong with Chicharon. Btw almost all their dishes have some kind of pork in it 128513 i love guavas so we got the guava iced tea instead of kamias shake. Just couldn't fathom eating lechon and downing it with a shake!
Food arrived in less than ten mins, service was good. First bite of the lechon was soooo good! See the skin? Deymmmm! The rice was good too with the tangy bits of green mango. Kangkong was a bit too wet IMO. Didn't finish the food Buti nalang haha. Lechon became a bit oily after a while.
Since there was a fiesta in the town near our resort, traffic was terrible! Decided to walk the rest of the way home, around 3km. Ok Narin to burn all of the lechon!
Total bill was around php800

Overall, I have an Ilonggo word to describe the food: ka-sum-od! (Did I say that right?) Nakakailay...!

The slow-cooked adobo was a disappointment. It was so salty and so oily. The two kinds of Lechon were so-so save for the spicy skin of the specialty zubuchon. The sinuglaw looked teeny tiny but was jam-packed with flavor and kinilaw pieces (this, I would actually recommend!). The seafood platter for 3-4 persons was so-so. Lacked flavor (the fish, shellfish, shrimp, etc).

Could give it 2.5 stars at most but won't be on my list of must-eat-at-again...

Their buko was supposed to be fresh but it tastes like it was about to go bad... :( fruit storage must be an issue because my friend who ate here last time had a bad case of the runs presumably from their kamias shake... :(

The only upside was the service staff, who responded as fast as they could with requests. Maybe that's why people come back...

My dad works in Cebu and every year, me and my sister spends the entire summer in Cebu back when I was still in elementary. I enjoy sugba and puso but never really cared about Cebu's Lechon. Now that I have a better palate, LOL, I had to make sure that I try Zubuchon and CNT.

I was on my way to the airport for my flight back to MNL and I asked the driver to stop by Marina Mall so I can get 1/4 kilo of lechon with rice to go since I didnt have much time.

I was at the predeparture waiting while eating my food. I looked stupid eating but I sure did enjoy it. CNT, in my opinion, is better because it's more flavorful and soft. However, the pig skin from Zubuchon is crispier.

What's the perfect way to greet one's Cebu adventure? Well, with Zubuchon of course! 128055

Monggo with Zubuchon-this was one heartwarming soup. The lechon and chicharon added that special flavor in it. It's monggo soup the way I like it: creamy and full of monggo. 128523

Lechon-I LOVE THIS. No wonder Anthony Bourdain hailed this as the "best pig...EVER!". It is worthy of that acclaim. The infused veggies made the meat savory. And what about the skin? It's crispy! I don't eat lechon much but for this, I'd grab my utensils right away! 128061

Kamias Shake-at first, I found this too sour for my taste but I got used to it and loved it. This was a good palate cleanser to out chosen dishes. 127865
